ENTER NOW FOR 702 WALK THE TALK, HOSTED BY GAUTENG

THE ICONIC 702 WALK THE TALK IS BACK.

And this year, we’re taking it to a world heritage site - a venue known for its
rolling hills and grassland routes.

The popular annual event that has run for over 22 years, and which pivoted to a
hybrid format during Covid-19 times, has been confirmed for 20 August 2023,
hosted by Gauteng in Maropeng at The Cradle of Humankind. On the eve of our
country's 30th year of democracy, the event once again returns to its original
feelgood formula – a mass participation event bringing 702Landers together in a
shared vision.

This year walkers can opt for the 3km walk for persons with disabilities,
guardians with their children under the age of twelve, at an entry fee of R180.
Alternatively, you can walk at your own pace in the 5km and 8km distances, at an
entry fee of R350.
All entries secure participants a personalized number, a t-shirt, and a medal.

Unfortunately, no pets are allowed in this world heritage site habitat.

VENUE MORE ABOUT CRADLE OF HUMANKIND

After you Walk the Talk through picturesque Magaliesberg grassland, you also
have the opportunity to see fossils, learn about how humankind was born, view
stone tools that are up to one million years old, and much more. The Maropeng
Visitor Centre is an award-winning, world-class exhibition, focusing on the
development of humans and our ancestors over the past few million years. You
enter via a prehistoric mound - the Tumulus building - and after a boat ride
that takes you through a journey of creation of life on the planet and mankind’s
evolution, you exit into the 21st century!

Take a journey through time, starting with the formation of the planet and
moving all the way through the evolutionary processes that culminated in the
world as we know it today. The scenery in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage
Site is the kind Instagram was made for but don’t forget to wear comfortable
walking shoes!

ROUTES LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ROUTES

Three routes have been curated for participants with varying degrees of
difficulty. A 3km route has been designed for guardians with children under 5
years & persons with disabilities. There are also 5km and 8km walk routes that
