Forget Me Not Gardening Group * Home * About Us * Make A Donation * Join us * Events * * * * * Forget Me Not Gardening Group * * * * * * Home * About Us * Make A Donation * Join us * Events FORGET ME NOT GARDENING GROUP Dementia Friendly ABOUT US -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Forget Me Not Gardening Group is a community inspired dementia friendly group based at Alyn Bank Riding School, Wrexham Road Pontyblyddyn CH7 4HG. It is held on the first Saturday of each month 1-3pm from September to March and 2-4pm April to August. The group is a new concept with the advantage of having access to both an outdoor area which is used for planting, potting and cultavating plants, vegetables and flowers, we are also in the process of creating a dementia friendly garden which will incorporate a vegetable area, shed and polytunnel and also a relaxing sensory area. During bad weather there is an indoor area where we can take part in traditional games, or just relax with a cup of tea and listen to music. The core values of the group are to create a safe, interactive, creative and meaningful enviornment where people with dementia, their families and friends can retain their independence, enjoy gardening or just relax in the tranquil environment. We can also offer support and advice regarding living with dementia for people and their families/friends. Refreshments are provided and we welcome everyone Donations will be very gratefully received. In the garden it is far from lacking in interest, early bulbs will be pushing through the cold earth to lighten the dark days. Lovely iris, crocus and snowdrops will be visible to welcome the approaching spring.
