FULL LIST Security Steel is located in an industrial area just south of I-96 in Detroit. The plant has about of 20,000 sq. ft. of floor space. Inside is ample room for much more than 3 million pounds of steel and 4 production lines. The receiving area is serviced by two overhead cranes of 10 and 15 tons capacity and the shipping side is serviced by two cranes of 5 tons each. The facility is heated and humidity controlled to protect steel while it is stored. From .040" to .320" gauge material can be slit here on our 24 inch machine. We can cut widths as narrow as .440". The edging process involves putting steel under tremendous pressure to remove the burr caused by slitting. This is done for safety and cosmetic reasons. The shape of the edge is controlled by passing the coil though a die which creates the profile you desire. .
