An EDIP is informed about how language and culture can trigger disordered eating and eating disorder behaviors in individuals who may be predisposed to these diseases. They have received the education necessary to compassionately support an individual who is struggling, while also connecting them to resources and treatment for recovery. EDIP is a continuing education program that provides foundational knowledge about eating disorders. Those earning the EDIP designation will receive a certificate of completion, sticker, and pin to help inform patients and clients that they have a general understanding about eating disorders and can help to guide patients and clients to get the treatment they need. The EDIP designation is not a licensure or certificate program. For more information about gaining formal training and certification as an eating disorder professional please contact iaedp.
