WELCOME TO GAME TO GROW

Game to Grow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the use of
games for therapeutic, educational, and community growth.

Game to Grow’s founders Adam Davis, MA Ed, and Adam Johns, LMFT, referred to in
the community as “The Adams,” had provided guided therapeutic play using
tabletop games since 2011 and had seen the tremendous potential of the format.
They founded Game to Grow in 2017 to expand their impact. For years, the
facilitator team in Game to Grow’s weekly therapeutic social skills groups
helped over 150 participants around the world become more confident, creative,
and socially capable using games of all kinds, most notably Dungeons & Dragons
and Minecraft. In 2024, Game to Grow shifted its focus to elevate its goals from
prioritizing direct services to serving to expand implementation of game-based
support programs worldwide. By supporting individuals and organizations to
provide services in the same capacity and caliber of Game to Grow’s flagship
programs, thousands more individuals around the world benefit from the awesome
power of intentional play. Through its comprehensive training program, Game to
Grow trains mental health professionals, educators, and community advocates to
use innovative game-based strategies to enrich their own communities. To support
facilitators new to using tabletop role-playing games to serve youth, Game to
Grow developed and successfully Kickstarted Critical Core, a beginner’s box for
therapeutically applied role-playing games.
