The convention was held to showcase the project’s achievements and the presentation of a charter of demands to relevant stakeholders including parliamentarians, ECP, NADRA, and government officials for taking corrective measures for the protection and promotion of the rights of marginalized groups. NATIONAL CONVENTION ON INCLUSIVE ELECTIONS IN PAKISTAN TDEA facilitated Women Workers’ Alliance (WWA) in organizing Women Workers’ Convention to celebrate the registration of Pakistan’s first-ever all-women trade union ‘Women Workers Unity’ and reiterate its demands for improving participation of women in economic life including establishing federal guidelines for minimum labor standards in order to ensure uniform protection of constitutional and legal rights of women workers across provinces. WOMEN WORKERS' ALLIANCE DEMANDS FOR GENDER-FOCUSED LABOR REFORMS SCSW LAUNCHES ITS SECOND THREE-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN (2022 - 2024) TDEA provided technical assistance to the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women (SCSW) in finalizing and launching its second strategic plan for the next three years i.e. 2022-2024. The objectives and key strategic pillars of the new plan focus on the social, economic, political, and legal empowerment of women in the province of Sindh. CONSULTATION ON DRAFT BILL FOR “ENFORCEMENT OF WOMEN’S PROPERTY RIGHTS IN GILGIT BALTISTAN” TDEA facilitated a consultative workshop on the draft legislation for enforcement of women’s property rights in Gilgit Baltistan. Members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly (GBA), legal experts, revenue officials, and civil society participated in the workshop. WORKSHOPS ON INCLUSIVE REGISTRATION FOR NADRA'S REGIONAL OFFICERS TDEA is conducting gender-sensitization workshops for NADRA’s regional officers across the country to enhance their understanding of inclusive NIC registration of women, persons with disabilities, and transgender persons. The USD 45 million funded Citizens' Voice Project, has strengthened citizens’ voices resulting in enhanced accountability, increased trust in public institutions, and improved public-private partnerships contributing to the consolidation of democracy in Pakistan EIGHT YEARS OF INTENSIVE EFFORTS FOR ENHANCING CITIZENS’ VOICE & ACCOUNTABILITY IN PAKISTAN As an integral partner of ECP & NADRA in their efforts to reduce the gender gap on the electoral rolls, TDEA has, from 2017 onwards, identified 2.95 million unregistered women and helped register more than 1.10 million of them. On July 7, 2021, ECP announced the 4th phase of the campaign, to further reduce the gender gap. THE GENDER GAP ON THE ELECTORAL ROLLS TDEA formed a unique coalition comprising of more than 180 national, provincial, and regional partners, actively engaged in conducting rights-based advocacy for women, PWDs, and transgender people. This Coalition for Inclusive Pakistan (CIP) aims to increase the electoral and political participation of some of the most disenfranchised groups in the country.
