FACT SHEET: VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS ANNOUNCES COMMITMENTS

On July 12, Vice President Harris will participate virtually in the Pacific
Islands Forum leaders’ meeting at the invitation of the Forum Chair Prime
Minister Frank Bainimarama of Fiji.


PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP – HAND OVER NEW NAVONU PRIMARY SCHOOL CLASSROOM

Under the Pacific Partnership, U.K. Royal Navy Captain Kerri Harris, attended
the handover ceremony representing United States Navy Pacific Fleet where he
serves on secondment as the Director for Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief
and Combined Operations.


USAID SUPPORTS FIRST-EVER BRAILLE VOTER GUIDE FOR BLIND AND VISION IMPAIRED IN
FIJI

To ensure information is accessible for all persons with disabilities during the
upcoming General Elections in Fiji, U.S. Charge d’affaires Tony Greubel today
handed over the first ever braille Assistive Voting Steps Easy to Read Guide to
the Supervisor of Elections Mr. Mohammed Saneem.


THE UNITED STATES PROVIDES IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE TO RESPOND TO DROUGHT IN
KIRIBATI

The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID), is providing US$500,000 in humanitarian assistance to respond to the
drought across Kiribati due to below normal rainfall, exacerbated by the ongoing
impacts of climate change.


U.S. EMBASSY LAUNCHES 2022 ACADEMY FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM

United States Chargé d’Affaires ad interim (CDA) Rebecca Owen welcomed over 100
Fijian women entrepreneurs to U.S. Embassy Suva to launch the Academy for Women
Entrepreneurs (AWE) for the third year in a row. AWE enhances women
