What is this request about?
REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of
Chemicals and SVHC stands for Substances of Very High Concern. With this
request, your customer is asking for REACH SVHC declarations that state whether
or not the parts/products that you supply to them contain articles with SVHCs
over the 0.1% w/w (weight by weight) threshold.

We understand that your company may not be required to register your
parts/products or substances, but you are obligated to provide this information
to your customers. Your customer needs your REACH SVHC information for the
parts/products that you supply to them in order to figure out if they have to
register.

How do I start?
In order to be able to complete this request, you will require information on
the chemicals contained in your parts/products. If you do not manufacture the
parts/products yourself, the information can be obtained by asking your
suppliers to provide you with REACH SVHC declarations, from which you can gather
the applicable information.

Please find below our acceptance criteria for a valid REACH SVHC declaration. 

Why is my customer asking me for this information?
REACH SVHC is a European regulation where producers and importers must notify
ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) of the substances listed on the Candidate list
which are present in their articles, if both the following conditions are met:

 * The substance is present in their relevant articles above a concentration of
   0.1% weight by weight.
 * The substance is present in these relevant articles in quantities totalling
   over one tonne per year.

In summary, your customer needs this information from you in order to import
their parts/products into the EU.
