Posters For Future * Contest * Conditions * Jury * Creatives For Future * Legal requirements GREEN FOR GOOD The first edition of the international poster competition "Posters For Future" Get more info READY, STEADY, PRINT! Creatives For Future invites you to take part in our poster contest about human-caused climate change. Let‘s raise awareness and cool down our carbon footprint (as well as our handprint). WHY YOU SHOULD TAKE PART Your creativity can change the game. With your artistic ideas, you‘ll inspire others to take action against climate change. STAND OUT, TAKE A STAND – TOGETHER The result is a single, giant piece of work comprising 50 A3 posters. Your only challenge is this: Your poster must be set up for riso printing. REDUCTION IS THE KEY When the posters eventually get printed, we‘ll use the risography technique. One colour will represent the motto of the year, joining the hues of paper and black. In 2024, that colour is green. This year‘s motto is “Green For Good”. HOW THE CONTEST WORKS Every year, participants are assigned 2 colours. The winners‘ posters are printed on DIN A3 paper using risography. INTRODUCING THE POSTER CONTEST The international poster contest takes place every two years. To highlight the multifaceted nature of climate change, we work with a different motto every year. Working with a specific motto each year also helps us compare the posters and focus on your creativity. ENTRIES ARE DUE ON 31 MAY 2024 Send a PDF version of your poster to entry@postersforfuture.de by 31 May 2024. To save resources and make the contest as accessible as possible, we only accept digital submissions. Our expert jury will also evaluate your work digitally. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RISOGRAPHY Risography is the environmentally friendly printing process. The ink is soy oil based, and the master foils are made from hemp fibres. Riso printing only requires a fraction of the energy used by a digital printing press. Eco-friendly and beautiful. A riso print is never perfect. That‘s what makes it so exciting. Similar to screen printing, colour applications and offsets have special characteristics. COPYCATS ARE MOST WELCOME After the contest, the print-ready posters will be available for download, so they can be put up in public spaces and used in protest marches or demonstrations. Later, exhibitions will present the 50 best posters from the contest. YOUR CHALLENGE, IF YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT The motto “Green For Good” only specifies the colours. Explore new ideas. It‘s up to you: Come up with your own slogans. Let the illustration take centre stage. Allow a photo to say more than 1,000 words. The only limits to your creativity are those set by the printing process. TERMS AND CONDITIONS These conditions focus on technical and design specifications. All you need to do is confirm that your work may be published under the Creative Commons license. Participants must be older than 16 years (if you‘re under 18, we‘ll need consent from a parent or guardian). DESIGN SPECS Our motto is “Green for Good”. You can use it as a slogan if you‘d like. But we‘re looking forward to receive a diverse variety of posters. So you are free in your design and wording – as long as you follow the colour requirements and make sure your poster is about climate change. Here are some example topics to inspire you: protecting the climate deforestation plant extinction green energy urban greening TECHNICAL SPECS You‘ll need to set up your file for riso printing. Colours: black and green (full tones). Dimensions: DIN A3, portrait format, with a circumferential border of 5 mm. A sample document (InDesign) is available for download. Download template ↓ SPECIAL FEATURES Large solid colour areas often cause problems. Therefore, please use 80% opacity for such areas. Font sizes must not be smaller than 6 pt.
