Minimum Driver Requirements
1. Must present a well-groomed appearance and pass a D.O.T. physical and drug
screen.
2. Minimum 24 years of age.
3. Must have a Class A CDL license.
4. Must supply 10 (ten) years of employment. This MUST include phone numbers
and complete addresses (which is a DOT requirement). No unexplained,
unverifiable gaps at all. Using the term “self-employed”, unless explained
in detail and proven, will be considered a gap.
5. Minimum of 2 years verifiable over the road tractor trailer experience
within the last 5 years.
6. Must provide a copy of Social Security Card or Birth Certificate as well as
a copy of CDL with photograph.
7. No falsification or incorrect information on application. Application must
accurately reflect all periods of employment, self-employment, training,
military, and unemployment for the past 10 years.
8. No DWI/DUI convictions within the past 7 years. NEVER in a commercial
vehicle.
9. No reckless driving convictions within the past 5 years.
10. No more than 1 (one) revocation of license during the past 3 years.
11. No convictions for possession, sale, or use of narcotic drugs, amphetamines
or derivatives thereof. No previous history of positive drug or alcohol
testing.
12. No more than 3 citations for moving violations in the past 3 years.
13. No major accidents within the past 3 years. Major is defined as a rollover,
injury or death accident with $10,000 or more aggregate loss.
14. No rear-end accidents in the past 5 years. No more than 1 (one) D.O.T.
recordable accident in the past 5 years. (More than one accident in the
past 5 years, even if minor, must be detailed and handled as an exception.)
15. No history of truck/equipment abandonment.
16. Absolutely no felony convictions ever.
NOTE: An applicant who is borderline in 2 or more areas must be presented to the
Safety Council.
