A heist film. Another heist film. But not just any heist film.

The mastermind is a clever guy. His accomplices are good and dependable. The
plan is brilliant and smooth, and it seems fool proof.
But then there's human psychology, and human weakness which is not, at least in
this case, forseeable, and so the clockwork series of events runs into a glitch.
This heist film is not so predictable. Do yourself a favour and watch it.
And.......thank you once more, Stanley !

This Kubrick film has it all. Tim Carey, Ted De Corsia, Marie Windsor, Vince
Edwards and Sterling Hayden! Who could ask for more?
This movie was Stanley’s “Steppin’ Out Party.”
A perfectly planned robbery. What could go wrong? Everything and anything,
that’s what!
Enjoy this classic. With Korea in the rear view mirror and Vietnam barely coming
into view, these mugs had too much time on their hands. Idleness I’d the Devil’s
workshop. Side note. The opening scene at the track was filmed at Bay Meadows in
San Mateo, on the SF Peninsula. You dedicated horse junkies will spot the
familiar hills at the start of the race. Stanley’s assistant cleverly put the 6
& 9 hoses as the last in the gate. He was 10 years ahead of the Summer of Love.

Subject: An early Kubrick directed film you won't likely find elsewhere
This film has typically intriguing moments built into the whole movie that I
would characterize as standalone products. Each of them eventually coming
together to form the complete movie, which won't surprise any Kubrick fan. It's
hard to discuss much of the film without giving anything away, so I will avoid
doing that with one exception.

If you like the old fashioned wrestling TV shows that looked rough but somewhat
staged, with the bouncy wrestling ring and big lugs tossing each other around
the ring there is something in this awesome noir film for you to get a kick out
of. Only there's no wrestling ring so I haven't given anything away.. Aside from
that just sit back and enjoy watching the pieces of the puzzle fall together as
you try and predict what happens.

What a damn great movie, just the end is slightly depressing^^

I enjoyed the whole movie, fast paced. Definite Noir. I’ll watch it again.
