Can I test drive a Rivian vehicle?

drive experience.  Our drive program is expanding rapidly, and we’ll be offering

What can I expect during a demo drive?

For both tour events and mobile drives, you’ll receive an invitation to schedule
through your Rivian Account when the opportunity is available in your area.
During your demo drive, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the vehicle’s
acceleration, capabilities and interior features — including materials and
in-vehicle navigation.  At our tour events, you’ll have an opportunity to drive
on pavement and off-pavement and experience ascents, descents and light rocky
sections providing you with a well-rounded drive experience. We’ll also have a
number of different configurations and options present for you to explore. The
30-minute drive appointment consists of a vehicle walk-around and drive.  We’ve
set up stations with Rivian team members so you can do deep dives to learn how
we built the R1T and have all your questions answered. You’ll be able to
experience R1T charging, storage and more, before or after your drive
appointment — just make sure to check our hours of operation and plan
accordingly.  During a mobile drive, you’ll experience a Rivian with guidance
from one of our Field Specialists. Mobile drives consist of a vehicle
walk-around followed by a 20-minute drive.

What vehicle incentives do I qualify for?

You may be eligible for federal, state or local incentives subject to applicable
incentive terms and conditions.* Federal Incentives The United States offers an
electric vehicle Federal Tax Credit incentive for any taxpayers adopting
vehicles after December 31st, 2009. State and County Incentives Alaska Alaska
Power & Telephone offers an electric vehicle incentive. Arizona Salt River
Project Plug-In and Save EV Rebate of Arizona offers an electric vehicle rebate.
California Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District offers an alternative
fuel vehicle incentive. California Air Resources Board Clean Vehicle Grants
offers an electric vehicle incentive. Community Housing Development Corporation
Driving Clean Assistance Program offers an electric vehicle incentive. Eastern
Kern Air Pollution Control District offers a vehicle voucher for the purchase of
new lower-emitting vehicles. Pasadena Department of Water and Power has rebates
and incentives available for electric vehicle owners. San Joaquin Valley
Pollution Control District offers an incentive to residents and businesses for
obtaining a new clean-air vehicle. Turlock Irrigation District (TID) offers an
electric vehicle incentive. Colorado Colorado Zero Emission Vehicle Tax Credits
offers a vehicle tax credit for electric vehicles. San Isabel Electric
Association (SIEZ) offers an electric vehicle rebate. Connecticut Groton
Utilities offers a rebate in their limited-time pilot rebate program for
electric vehicle purchases. There is a Reduced Registration Fee for Electric
Vehicles offered in the state of Connecticut. District of Columbia District of
Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles offers a tax exemption for original
purchasers and subsequent purchasers of the electric vehicle. Iowa MidAmerican
Energy offers a rebate for electric vehicles. Louisiana Louisiana state provides
a tax credit for residents who purchase an “alternative fuel” vehicle.
Massachusetts The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources provides a state
rebate for the purchase of battery electric vehicles. New Hampshire New
Hampshire Electric Co-op offers a rebate for battery electric vehicles,
additional tax credits and incentives may be available. New Jersey The state of
New Jersey offers a sales tax exemption for zero-emission vehicles. North
Carolina Roanoke Electric Cooperative offers an electric vehicle incentive.
Vermont Green Mountain Power offers an electric vehicle incentive. The Public
Power Supply Authority of Vermont offers an electric vehicle incentive. *Rivian

Where can I charge?

You can charge your Rivian vehicle on the road, at home or just about anywhere
there’s an outlet. We’re building our Rivian Adventure Network for Rivian
owners, a comprehensive network of fast-charging stations across the US and
Canada — capable of adding up to 140 miles of range in 20 minutes. Rivian
Waypoint chargers will be located near shopping centers, restaurants, hotels,
parks and other popular destinations. Waypoint chargers will be open to the
public and have a J1772 plug, making them compatible with other electric
vehicles. For the quickest and most convenient charge at home, the Rivian Wall
Charger is capable of charging up to 25 miles per hour. Rivian vehicles come
standard with our Portable Charger that plugs into higher-powered 240V outlets
as well as standard 120V outlets — capable of charging up to 16 miles of range
per hour. We are also integrating with other nationwide CCS networks to ensure
charging is always easily accessible, wherever you go. You’ll be able to find
Rivian charging locations and other CCS sites directly from your in-vehicle
touchscreen. Simply choose your destination and the navigation will
automatically route you through any needed charging stops. Learn more about

How much does it cost to charge a Rivian vehicle?

Charging costs vary based on the cost of electricity in your area. In general,
when charging at home, you can expect to fully charge a Rivian vehicle for about
half the cost of a tank of gas. You can also program your Rivian Wall Charger to
accept charge during off-peak hours when energy rates are most affordable,
further lowering your costs. For public charging, pricing varies as each
charging network sets its own price. Pricing often correlates to the charger’s
speed and even still, pricing is typically at or below the cost of gasoline.

How do trade-ins work?

A trade-in is used as a credit towards your new Rivian. Rivian will make a
trade-in offer during our online purchasing experience. We accept most makes and
models of vehicles as trade-in, though some may require manual review.  These
decisions are determined by a combination of user-supplied information, market
value and vehicle history. Rivian will collect your trade-in vehicle on delivery
day.
