OUR STORY

It all began when a group of book loving entrepreneurs noticed a bag of books in
charity shop bin destined for landfill. Our founders rescued them on the spot,
determined to give them a second life.

Over the last two decades, we have grown from a start-up into a leading global
seller of quality used books and pioneers in re-use and recycling. Our inventory
has grown to over seven million items in stock and we sell a book somewhere in
the world every two seconds.

THE GROUP

We are comprised of three re-commerce technology companies that feed into our
circular economy business model.

World of Books is a leading global seller of used books online to millions of
customers; directly, through third party platforms and wholesale partners. The
business supports charities and are pioneers in the re-use and recycling of
unwanted books.



Ziffit is a free and easy to use app and website to sell unwanted books, CDs,
DVDs, Blu-rays and games for cash. One of the largest trade-in sites in the UK,
the Ziffit business model is 100% circular. Ziffit has also been developed to
power instore 'buyback' (trade-in for credit) partnership programs in new book
shops; further closing the loop on new book purchase, use and reuse.



Shopiago is an online sales software product that is utilised by charities to
generate additional revenue for good causes and enable more goods to be reused.
It is the UK’s only listing software designed to meet the unique needs of the
charity retail sector.

OUR OWNERS

Livingbridge ("Livingbridge") bought a majority stake in World of Books in July
2021. They are a mid-market private equity firm investing in fast growing
companies in the consumer markets. Their vast experience in supporting
mission-led businesses will enable us to maintain our high standards as a
certified B-Corp company, and support our vision to become a global leader in
re-commerce.

Our owners are here to help us grow and, in turn, maximise our social and
environmental impact.
