camaraderie, where athletes recognize and appreciate the dedication, discipline
and effort of their peers. Theirs is a small world, and few outside it can
appreciate the demands.

Not the two biggest stars of the men’s 1,500 meters. They snipe and sneer. They
throw shade, they offend, and they balk. It’s a rivalry fit for reality
television. Call it “Real Track Stars of Stade de France.”
