OUR HISTORY

Don Antonio V. Rocha, President of Manila Shipping Inc., General Agent in the
Philippines for States Steamship Corporation and Mr. Chester F. Sharp, Owners
Representative of States Steamship, decided to venture out on their own in the
shipping industry. 

FIRST MEETING

C.F. Sharp began doing business as the newly appointed general agent of Daido
lines in the Philippines after a secret meeting with Mr. Masao Doi, President of
Daido Lines (later became Japan Lines).

SUGAR EXPORT

The Company initially concentrated on booking sugar export cargoes for its
principal’s vessels and thus the famous and well known cable
address “SUGARCRAFT” was registered. 

CONTINUOUS GROWTH

With the continued growth of the company, it opened an office in San Francisco,
USA followed shortly by the opening of additional branch offices in Korea,
Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. 

The company became a 100% Filipino owned corporation when Don Antonio Rocha
bought the interests of Mr. Chester F. Sharp. 

Today, the C.F. SHARP GROUP has expanded from its original business of Liner and
Husbanding Agencies, to being a leader in the fields of Crewing, Travel, Freight
Forwarding, Brokerage, Air Cargo, Land-based Recruiting and Training.

ADVISORY

IN response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019 nCoV) outbreak, CF Sharp Crew
Management has established the following precautionary measures effective
immediately for the health and safety of all its employees, crewmembers,
associates, guests, and applicants.

A. WORKPLACE PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES:
1. Entrance to the building (Casa Rocha)
a. Family Center Entrance – for CF Sharp employees only
b. Main Entrance – for Seafarers only
c. Driveway Entrance – for applicants and visitors only

2. There will be temperature scanning for everyone entering the building.
a. With a normal temperature – will be allowed entry
b. With high temperature (above 37.8 degrees Celsius)
– Will not be allowed entry;
– Will be asked to accomplish Disclosure Form; and
– It will be recommended for medical consultation with their respective
physicians or health care providers.

3. Face masks are available for employees. However, for personal safety and for
others, everyone is encouraged to provide for one’s
personal protective equipment (e.g. face masks).

4. Seafarers, applicants, and visitors are encouraged to sanitize and wear face
masks before entry to the building.

5. Hand sanitizers are available at the entrance areas and other key areas
within the building.

6. Information about nCOV is shown on TV screens and reminders are posted in
conspicuous locations on the premises. Related advisories shall also be released
regularly through email. Everyone is encouraged to follow and practice good
personal hygiene as recommended by WHO, DOH, and other proper authorities.

B. FOR THOSE WITH HISTORY OF RECENT TRAVEL:
1. Recent travelers from affected areas who show symptoms of severe respiratory
illness and other signs of the nCOV within the last 14 days should seek medical
attention immediately and have themselves
screened for common causes of respiratory illness.

2. For those who have traveled to areas with known cases or areas with Persons
Under Investigation (PUIs) are encouraged to volunteer information to the
Company OSH Committee, Safety Officer or Company Nurse. Rest assured that the
information shall be treated with utmost confidentiality.

3. Countries with confirmed cases include China, Hongkong, Singapore, Japan,
Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, United States, and Vietnam, among
others. While local areas with PUIs include Aklan, Cebu, Dumaguete, among
others.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS UPDATE

March 1, 2022

COVID-19 Advisory - Alert Level 1

The Philippine government, through the Inter-Agency Task Force for the
Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), has now placed the
National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas under Alert Level 1 starting March
01, 2022. Due to this, the following guidelines and related amendments on the
company’s COVID-19 Safety Protocols shall be implemented immediately:

CFS Employees

 1. Office operations shall be at 100% capacity. Regular work schedules of all
    departments/employees shall be observed.
 2. The minimum health protocols shall be continuously implemented, particularly
    the temperature scanning, wearing of face mask, social distancing, mandatory
    home isolation/quarantine and/or leave of absence when sick or not feeling
    well due to symptoms of COVID-19, prohibition on communal eating, among
    others.
 3. While our workforce is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, employees are
    highly encouraged to have booster shots through their respective local
    government units.
 4. Periodic mandatory random antigen testing shall still be enforced for
    baseline purposes.

Office Premises

 1. Regular disinfection and sanitation of the premises and frequently touched
    surfaces shall remain a mandatory routine.
 2. Proper ventilation shall be continuously observed.
 3. Plastic/acrylic barriers between tables are no longer required.

Crews, Guests and Visitors

 1. Scheduling of appointments prior to office visit is still required.
 2. Transactions shall still be through the designated booths.
 3. Waiting area shall be at 100% seating capacity.
 4. The minimum health protocols on face masks and social distancing shall be
    strictly observed.
 5. Health declaration forms are no longer required.
 6. Those with symptoms must defer office appointments and follow isolation and
    testing guidelines.

Amended protocols are subject to change depending on the Alert Level Status and
in compliance with the related guidelines to be imposed by the government.
