Youth Transportation

On June 30, 2023, UPE met with CPS management regarding a one (1) year 71-J
(contract) they would like to implement with Hop, Skip, Drive (HSD). HSD is a
ride-share company that the department would like to utilize to cover school
runs when there is no available Family Service Worker (FSW).

We asked the department how many school runs/visits have been missed, if this
would stop the department from filling the vacant FSW positions and if those
vacancies were filled would HSD still be necessary, if the department would
still provide FSWs...

Deputy Court Function Policy

On June 23, 2023, UPE met with the County in regards to updating the above
policy.

Although there was little change in the policy and procedure, UPE did have
several requests that would provide clarification to the policy.  Management has
previously informed us that there are employees that may start later than what
the court does; UPE asked if employees knew that they could flex their time on

On June 23, 2023, UPE met with the County in regards to updating the above
policy.

UPE found that there were no significant impacts on the membership. The policy
had not changed, only the formatting of how the policy is now written; however,

emphasis on the duties of the Youth Engagement Social Workers (YESW).

DHA 005 / 008

Return to Pre-COVID Lobby Capacity

 

On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, UPE and members of the 005 and 008 governing boards
met with the Department of Human Assistance to discuss changes in the current
lobby capacity due to the lifting of the Public Health Emergency.

 

Prior to October 2022, DHA had cut lobby capacity to 50% due to the prevalence
of COVID-19. After October 2023, lobbies were opened at 100% capacity unless
that DHA location was in an outbreak.
