AmerisourceBergen Corp., Cardinal Health Inc. and McKesson Corp. on Tuesday said
they reached an agreement with the Washington state attorney general to pay up
to $518 million to resolve opioid-related claims.

Under the agreement, the state will dismiss the lawsuit currently being tried.
The terms of the agreement with the state are consistent with the comprehensive
settlement agreement, which became effective April 2, the companies said.

The companies in late February said they would proceed with a comprehensive
agreement to settle the vast majority of the opioid lawsuits filed by state and
local governmental entities. The companies said at the time that
AmerisourceBergen would be responsible for $6.1 billion, Cardinal Health $6.0
billion and McKesson $7.4 billion, payable over 18 years. The companies in
February said the states of Alabama, Oklahoma and Washington chose not to
participate in the settlement.

The companies said Tuesday that the settlement amount is consistent with
Washington's allocation under the previously announced comprehensive agreement.

The companies said they strongly dispute the allegations made in the plaintiffs'
complaints and during trial, though they believe that resolving all of the
litigation filed by Washington state will further their goal of achieving broad
resolution of governmental opioid claims while delivering relief to communities.
