Arnold, M.D. Award for achieving the highest mark in the written component of the ABHRS Examination held in October 2023. The biggest advantage for our patients, is that you will not need time off work so long as the surgery will be only minimally visible. LONG hair transplantation has been made possible with our revolutionary Trivellini Tech vacuum assisted multiphasic FUE hair transplant system first developed in 2011 by Dr Roberto Trivellini in Paraguay. The system combines years of evolution and technological improvements in the fields of electronics and materials to create the state of art FUE system. Harvesting is naturally slower as meticulous care needs to be taken when extracting your long hair. This limits the amount of hair we can extract per session. Traditional FUE hair transplantation method where your head needs to be shaved, allows more extensive transplantation which will suit a majority of our patients. We find the Trivellini system so good that we are the only clinic to have TWO Trivellini systems! Kiwi's by nature are very shy, and we respect everyone's privacy, hence we can show you before and after photos of our patients who have given their permission, during the consultation. We are unique in New Zealand as we have locally trained doctors who live and work full time in Auckland. Drs Wong and Doo perform all extractions and hair transplantations. We use the implanter pens to place your precious hair into the area. This method has been called "DHI" or Direct Hair Implantation by some clinics. A good analogy to understand hair loss and medication is to compare it to a bucket of water. Imagine your head of hair as a bucket filled with water, and the hair on your scalp represents the water in the bucket. It's as if there's a small leak in the bucket, which leads to hair loss over time. As the water (hair) escapes through the leak, you experience thinning or balding in certain areas. Hair transplant restoration surgery comes into play as a solution to this problem. It involves moving water (hair) from one part of the bucket (donor site) to another (area of hair loss). This way, the balding area gets replenished with hair, like redistributing water to fill the empty spaces. Prescribed medications, on the other hand, play a vital role in managing hair loss. They can act like a cork that reduces or stops the water from escaping the bucket, effectively slowing down or even halting the hair loss process. These medications have been scientifically proven to be effective in preventing further hair loss and maintaining the hair you still have. So, by using medication, we're essentially taking measures to plug the leak in the bucket, preserving the hair we currently have and potentially preventing further hair loss in the future. Dr Garsing Wong, born in Mangere, Auckland in 1965, attended Melville High School in Hamilton - which sadly closed down this year 2023. He gained a University Junior Scholarship to attend the School of Medicine at the University of Auckland. After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr Wong pursued postgraduate training in the United Kingdom and Switzerland before returning to New Zealand. Currently, he resides and works full-time in Auckland. Dr Wong has been an early adopter of medical therapy for restoring hair loss, thinning hair, and early male pattern balding. Over the past 30 years, he has published educational material for both patients and doctors in this field. In 2017, Dr Garsing Wong became the first doctor in Australasia to offer Hairstetics Hair Implantation, utilising artificial fibers to restore thinning hair in women through hair implants. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Garsing Wong maintains an active teaching role as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Department of General Practice and Primary Health Care at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland. After attending Kings College in Otahuhu, Dr Doo was awarded a University Junior Scholarship to pursue studies at the School of Medicine, University of Auckland. Currently, Dr Doo resides and practices full-time in Auckland. With qualifications as both a doctor and a lawyer, Dr Doo is a valuable asset to the field. Dr Doo is a full member of the ISHRS (International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery) and The World FUE Institute. Dr Wen-Pei (Margaret) Chen, born in 1969 in Keelung, Taiwan, relocated to New Zealand in 1989 with her family. Margaret is not only the founder but also the driving force behind the first permanent full-time hair restoration surgical hair transplant clinic in Auckland, New Zealand. In 1999, Dr Chen graduated from the esteemed Peking Union Medical College in Beijing, China. After completing her doctorate, she returned to Auckland to settle permanently.
