FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


What is PalletPath

PalletPath is a new service that allows customers signed up with ParcelPath the
ability to ship Less than Truckload (LTL) Shipments.  It is the result of a
Strategic Partnership between ParcelPath and a Fourth Party Logistics provider.

What does this mean for clients of ParcelPath?

The combination of ParcelPath and PalletPath services is the only website that
allows shippers with the ability to ship Parcel and LTL shipments.

I don’t need parcel services. Can I still use PalletPath?

Absolutely!  Simply sign up as a ParcelPath client and click on the PalletPath
tab to begin shipping.

Does PalletPath provide other services?

PalletPath shippers can also have access to shipping other modes of freight
through our partnership with a 4th Party Logistics Provider (4PL).   Please
contact us for more information.

What is a Bill of Lading (BOL)?

A legal document a shipper gives to the carrier at the time of pickup.  It
contains all the information a carrier needs to transport the shipment to the
destination.  This includes origin and destination address, description of the
product, handling type (pallet/crate etc.), weight, dimensions and any
additional services needed to complete the delivery.

What am I not allowed to ship using PalletPath?

Products we currently do not accept to ship via PalletPath are Hazardous
Materials, Temperature Controlled Freight, Ammunition, Firearms, Antiques and
Household Goods.

How do I determine Freight Class?

A standardized numbering system managed by the National Motor Freight Traffic
Association (NMFTA) based on a product’s Density, Ease of Handling, Value and
Liability.  Freight class will be determined for you in PalletPath when you put
in your shipment details.

What is an NMFC Number?

A numbering system used to group commodities by their description. Carriers use
it in coordination with the Freight Class. 

What packaging tips can you give me?

Please make sure your product doesn’t extend beyond the dimensions of the
pallet.  Strapping and/or using shrink wrap to secure the product to the pallet
to prevent it from tipping or sliding on the pallet in transit.  Protecting
vulnerable spots on your product using additional cardboard sheets and bubble
wrap.

How do you track PalletPath shipments?

As you process your shipment, put in your email address and others to receive
tracking notifications as the shipment moves to its destination.  The link to
track your shipment will be included.
