   The food was AMAZING and the service? Please don't get me startedddd. My
   fiancée and I had an amazing time and loved the food. We attended on a Sunday

   My girlfriend and I went here tonight around 9:15. We both ordered the
   gnocchi which was perfect. May have been the best gnocchi I've ever had it
   was cooked perfectly and the sauce with mozzarella and burrata was very
   tasty. The server who brought us our food also sprinkled Parmesan on top
   which was a nice touch. The dining area is very clean it's not too dark but
   not too light. It's a very cozy little restaurant. With all of that said the
   best part was our waiter Clemente. He was the best waiter I've ever had. He
   was very inviting everything he said was so kind and he was also funny. He
   was just all around a happy guy with a huge smile on his face every time he
   talked to us. The food was very good but Clemente is the reason I am giving
   this restaurant a 5 star review.

   The food at this place is fresh, well prepared, tasty, and satisfying.
   It's an excellent neighborhood restaurant that is worth the trip to South
   Park.
   
   I love their salmon with pomegranate sauce over risotto. Not only is it
   delicious- the generous proportions make for another meal for light eaters.
   
   They offer a good wine list with interesting choices, a bright dining area
   with large windows that provide lots of fresh air on warm days.
   
   The servers are attentive and knowledgeable and not in a hurry to move you
   out of your table- even on a busy weekend (I was there for Mother's Day last
   year- LOTS of families)
   
   Note: The parking can be tricky. There is no parking lot, so plan time to
   hunt for on street spaces.

   We are in town for a celebration and Piacere Mío popped up as a
   recommendation on Yelp. So glad we went! We had no trouble finding street
   parking right outside the establishment but I imagine that's impossible
   during peak hours. Luckily, Target is across the street and walking distance!
   
   The reservation option on Yelp was handy and we only waited a moment to be
   seated by the friendly hostess.
   
   I appreciate that the menu has plenty of variety but is not overloaded with
   menu items. My niece had fun creating her dish. There's an option to choose
   your pasta and sauce; you can add a protein as well. My sister went with the
   spaghetti and meatballs and I had the carbonara. The fresh pasta transported
   us to a magical place and the sauces each had they own unique flavor. We all
   agreed that the spaghetti and meatballs took the crown. We were too full to
   even glance at the dessert menu but will do so next time we visit!

   South Park has more than its fair share of Italian restaurants. Piacere Mio
   was recommended by a friend's coworker so we recently visited during a
   weekend after getting a few treats at a nearby bakery first. The corner suite
   was located at a busy intersection across from the neighborhood Target. We
   arrived before they opened for lunch, therefore some time was spent waiting
   at the next door coffee shop.
   
   A worker waved us inside as we approached the entrance soon after the opening
   time. I think there was sufficient seating for about 60 diners if the outdoor
   patio area was included. A special menu sheet was provided in addition to the
   standard menu. We decided to split the Beef Short Ribs from the Specials
   because it caught our eye. Knowing that the item was going to be on the
   heavier side, I selected the Polpo e Patate from the list of Antipasti. A
   basket of complimentary bread and a cup of olive oil with balsamic
   vinaigrette were brought to the table for us to nosh on while we waited for
   our order.
   
   My appetizer was an octopus and potato salad with kalamata olives and pesto
   sauce. There were plenty of potato chunks while the octopus was cut into
   small pieces. The short ribs were split into two plates as we requested. The
   oven roasted meat was cooked in red wine and demi glace sauce with onions,
   celery, and carrots. The portion size was plentiful as there was a full
   serving of mashed spuds that came with each plate. The beef was very tender
   with good flavor. Based on the service and quality of our food, I could see
   why Piacere Mio was highly rated.

   Went during Valentine's weekend:
   * caprese was ok... nothing crazy, just simple balsamic vinegar, 3 tomatoe
   halves, and mozzarella... probably would skip next time
   * carbonara was good (can't go wrong, it's always my go to at any restaurant
   serving pasta)
   * BUT my boyfriend had the orecchiette con salsiccia... and girl... THAT
   melted in your mouth in a heavenly way!
   * tiramisu was GOOD and worth it for the price because of how big it is (was
   thinking of ordering creme brulee, but saw how small it was for the price...
   wouldn't be worth it for your buck)
   * ambiance was cute BUT very intimate... tables are pretty close together
   * reservations are recommended & can be made on OpenTable

   My son highly recommended Piacere Mio, so I decided to make reservations on
   Yelp and give this place a try!
   Oh boy, I'm happy I made reservations because this place got busy fast! We
   were seated within 5 minutes, our waiter was very friendly and took our
   beverage and food order right away. In the meantime, they brought us
   sourdough bread and olive oil. Shortly thereafter we received our food and it
   was very delicious. And next on the menu was dessert....so yummy and on
   point!

   Made reservations for a Friday Night and arrived 10 mins prior to our time.
   However after checking-in with the front, we still had to wait almost 20-30
   more minutes to be seated. There was another group called before us that had
   a similar name to ours and we had a feeling that they took our spot (the
   workers seem to have English as their secondary language so mispronunciation
   could have happened). Our waiter for the night was atypical to say the least.
   It was hard to understand what he was saying and overall it felt like he was
   just spitting out Italian words/dishes without making it feel hospitable.
   Weird.
   
   They serve complimentary bread with a side of olive oil + balsamic but this
   is where I got concerned. They serve the dipping in a small ramekin that's a
   little deep. This is a problem because once you start dipping the bread, the
   oil is all at the top so it goes away pretty fast. So by the time you are at
   the bottom of the dip, all that is left is a hefty amount of straight
   balsamic w/no more olive oil. This is why Italian places traditionally serve
   this dip on a shallow flat plate so that it keeps both parts separate.
   
   The Tagliatelle Alla Zafferano Con Pollo was decent and had a hint of
   saffron. The chicken however was not good. You could tell that it's that kind
   of chicken cut where it's dry and you can see the striations on the meat. Not
   juicy/tender whatsover. The Orecchiette Con Salsiccia was much better. More
   of a 4/5 stars. The flavors were nice and I enjoyed the level of creaminess.
   Maybe our experience and the dishes we got were an anomaly, but we left
   feeling more disappointed than happy.

   Solid pasta spot! Maybe it was the pastas that I ordered, but I didn't feel
   like it hit. There was no wow factor for me. The pastas were good but not
   great. I tried the linguine alle vongole, a simple white wine pasta with
   clams, and a build your own pesto pasta with chicken. The linguine alle
   vongole was very light, allowing the garlic and clams to be more present in
   the dish. I personally didn't like how light it was, it lacked flavor. But
   some people may enjoy it's simplicity. I will say they did not skimp out on
   the clams - and they were very fresh! The pesto was ok, once again, the
   flavor was very light. It was missing the wow factor! The consistency of both
   pastas were very good though, and I think they handmake their noodles.
   
   Service was great! They were very attentive and quick. Ambiance was great, I
   enjoyed the coziness of the restaurant.
   
   Piacere Mio wouldn't be my first choice for Italian food in San Diego, but I
   wouldn't mind returning.
