Disregarding rival heirs and the overwhelming power of the York dynasty, she
names him Henry, like the king sends him into exile and pledges him in marriage
to her enemy Elizabeth of York’s daughter. She sets her heart on putting her son

to the little boy. Married to a man twice her age, quickly widowed, and a mother
at only fourteen, Margaret is determined to turn her lonely life into a triumph.
Margaret Beaufort never surrenders her belief that her Lancaster house is the
true ruler of England, and that she has a great destiny before her.

MARKED KRISTIN CAST

If I could be any character human I would be Grandma Redbird, Vampyre* Zoey,
Fledgling Shaunee Found a beautiful playlist for the first book: Unfortnately
there will not be a series since the deadline has passed now but maybe one day
or even a movie franchise.

So far not so trashy just a little cringey. I am grateful to my friend Scar for
exposing me to this "vampire trash" that I love. These markings on their face &
body is so beautiful. I have always wanted tattoos but only in connection to my
indigenous culture. I have never thought about vampire lore in this way. I know
the hag is suppose to be redeemable eventually just not sure when. I hope they
all make it through the change. Based on spoilers I know I am suppose to be
suspicious of Nefret but she is so Iconic. I am hoping she does not end up with
Heath in the end of these 13 books. I wouldnt mind being one." I am hoping
(depending if I enjoy boy two as much as I have book 1) there is less sex
shaming because zoeybird is definetly horny for Mr.Night. I am liking these
vampire versions so far. Looking online its pretty popular especially with
indigenous cosplayers.

Pros: Cherokee cultural & spiritual representation, pagan rituals i feel as one
is accurate TW & cons: Sex shaming, Religious trauma, Brief ED mention

THE NEW DRAWING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN BY BETTY EDWARDS

I’ve always wanted to draw but never had the skill or patience to sit down and
learn. “With my work on hold and sequestered in my home, I imagined learning a
new skill that could bring me pleasure at this time. Thanks so much to Brian and
Sophie for giving me the motivation to continue.” I find myself now looking at
everything with a new appreciation of light, shape, and beauty. After Brian’s
online workshop, I can draw! Betty’s book, Drawing on the Right Side of the
Brain, is powerful, but it took Brian’s workshop to launch me into an exciting
new adventure. I am so grateful for my ‘new eyes.’ Muchas gracias, Brian!”

I learned how to see differently, how to perceive spatial relationships,
understand negative space, and even got a little better with perspective, a
skill that spills over into life.

What I learned was something more valuable than how to draw, though I have to
say I did improve. “At age 67, I took Brian's course, an absolute beginner with
no drawing skill whatsoever. Here are just a few comments from recent students:

AS ONE DEVIL TO ANOTHER BY RICHARD PLATT

2023 |įinally got back to reading and I chose a doozie! I don’t know much about
Plath’s work (and this has inspired me to finally read The Bell Jar), but this
book was certainly captivating. (Having a preschooler helps with that!) One day,
I will log all of those books, but that day is not today. That being said, I did
read and am still reading a huge amount of picture books and kid lit.

Apparently, pandemic + raising a toddler/pre-schooler + publishing a book + (oh
right) my actual full-time job that pays me was too much and something had to
give. I could blame a lot of things, but it simply boils down to pure
exhaustion. All of the books that I have read (since 2010, at least) are listed
here. I also like to keep track of what I have read… partially so that I can
refer to them later and partially because I will forget that I have read
something before. Web developer, Author, Speaker, Single mom, Baker, Music
lover, Chaotic neutral

GEORGE AND MARTHA BY JAMES MARSHALL

The humor and laughter from the original stories is there, but the complexity of
the words and lack of consistency in the length of the stories may frustrate
beginning readers.

I’m not sure that these work at the best beginning readers. I looked at three
books and found the following unique word counts: Two Great Friends at 140,
Round and Round at 195, and Best of Friends at 177. Lexile only had scores
available for one reader and it was scored at 470L.

The stories vary in length and difficulty - some are incredibly easy for
beginning readers and others include words like “flabbergasted”.Īccelerated
Reader average was 2.03 based on six of the readers. Links: Houghton Mifflin
Harcout || Green Light ReadersĮach volume has two to three classic George and
Martha stories reproduced with smaller illustrations and (from my examination)
little to no text changes.

 * George and Martha: Full of Surprises (2010).
 * George and Martha: One Fine Day James Marshall (2010).
 * George and Martha: Rise and Shine (2009).
 * George and Martha: One More Time (2009).
 * George and Martha: The Best of Friends (2008).
 * George and Martha: Round and Round (2008).
 * George and Martha: Two Great Friends (2007).

X MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST CHRIS CLAREMONT

5/29/2023

Originally, the idea was for Scott and a depowered Jean Grey to leave the X-Men
and pursue their lives together, away from the team. While Claremont had clear
long-term plans he wanted to develop for Uncanny X-Men #150, the change in plans
had forced him to quickly revise his short-term plans. How does one follow up on
arguably the greatest X-Men story ever told?Īdditionally, there were more
immediate problems. However, in the wake of this tremendous success, one nagging
question remained for Chris Claremont, John Byrne, and incoming editor Louise
Simonson. Because of the changes to the ending at the direction of former Marvel
Editor-In-Chief Jim Shooter, Jean Grey sacrificed her life to save the universe,
a move that sent seismic shockwaves through the comics industry. It would
eventually go on to be the most celebrated and one of the most influential X-Men
stories in the history of the canon.

With the end of the Dark Phoenix Saga, Chris Claremont and John Byrne had hit
their greatest creative achievement.

None of them sold, but they did get him invitations to pitch other material to
DC editors, which led to his first professional work, a back-up story in Green
Lantern #162 (Mar. During this time, Busiek also had many letters published in
comic book letter columns, and originated the theory that the Phoenix was a
separate being who had impersonated Jean Grey, and that therefore Grey had not
died-a premise which made its way from freelancer to freelancer, and which was
eventually used in the comics.ĭuring the last semester of his senior year,
Busiek submitted some sample scripts to editor Dick Giordano at DC Comics.

Throughout high school and college, he and future writer Scott McCloud practiced
making comics.

This was the first part of a continuity-heavy four-part story arc Busiek was
drawn to the copious history and cross-connections with other series. He began
to read them regularly around the age of 14, when he picked up a copy of
Daredevil #120. Kurt Busiek is an American comic book writer notable for his
work on the Marvels limited series, his own title Astro City, and his four-year
run on Avengers.īusiek did not read comics as a youngster, as his parents
disapproved of them.
