VETMAPS DEPLOYS TEXAS MISSION

15 Jun, 2022 •
VetMaps Supporting Medical Cannabis Treatment for Veterans’ Physical and Mental
Health Conditions at 2022 Texas Jam Health Fair Organization raising awareness
during National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month IRVING, Texas –
June 13, 2022 – VetMaps, whose first mission is to advocate for EVERY American
Veteran in EVERY Legal State to obtain his or her medical marijuana card for
free. "We have several missions planned, and teams are mobilizing as we speak in
several states like Missouri, Arkansas, California but are focusing on getting
Veterans into their States MMJ programs first. We started in Oklahoma last April
and are really excited about this Saturday because its VetMaps' first Texas
Event!" said the Co-Founder of VetMaps Stu Box. Today, announced it will be at
the 2022 Texas Jam Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, June 18. Texas Veterans
with qualifying conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), will
receive a free consultation in order to qualify for a medical marijuana card.
Stu Box continued, "One of our Missions is to fight each state, to not tax
Veterans at all for their MMJ products and eventually to take that fight to
Washington DC, when Prohibition ends, for tax free Cannabis for All Vets. Once
we get our government to do just that, then, through our Vast VetMaps Network of
Veteran Doctors, Farmers, Growers, Dispensaries, Processors, Mentors,
Consultants, and Transportation services, etc... Our VetMaps Network is ready to
help our Vets now, we just have to wait on the Government to reschedule
Marijuana and end prohibition before we can do anything on a National scale, so
for now, we work with what we have state by state, I'll just say this, VetMaps
will be like USAA, only Veterans with a DD214 can be in the club, only we're not
a bank!" VetMaps was built Exclusively by Vets for Vets. They aim to provide
Veterans the ability to purchase their legal medical cannabis directly from a
Veteran Owned Dispensary or through a dispensary that has a Veteran grower or
processor, in their perspective state, and as state laws allow. "We have put
together such a strong network of likeminded, passionate, industry loving
Veterans here at VetMaps that it's unbelievable!" said Stu Box The U.S. Veteran
population experiences higher rates of both PTSD and suicide compared to the
general population. Many do not know that medical marijuana is approved for PTSD
in Texas. Veterans often do not have access to all treatment options. June is
National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month. VetMaps intends to
raise public awareness about PTSD issues, reduce the stigma of the syndrome and
put efforts into helping those suffering from the invisible wounds of war to
receive proper treatment. VetMaps is dedicated to providing Veterans free
medical cards, as well as medical cannabis education, suicide prevention,
community outreach, community services and events. Research shows that medical
cannabis (marijuana) is extremely effective in treating symptoms of physical and
mental health conditions, especially the diagnosis of post-traumatic stress
disorder. According to Stu Box, “VetMaps is putting its efforts toward working
to decrease suicide in Veterans who suffer from PTSD. The organization is
involved in education and outreach to provide alternatives to treating veterans
and hopes to decrease the use of opiates in Veteran populations.” Box continued,
“Veterans who tested positive for PTSD were associated with a 58% higher risk of
suicide immediately after screening, compared to vets without PTSD. After one
year, veterans with PTSD had a 26% higher suicide risk.” In Texas, the
Compassionate Use of Medical Marijuana Act allows veterans to receive medical
cannabis to treat symptoms related to certain conditions, including PTSD,
neuropathy, neurodegenerative disorders, multiple sclerosis, and a number of
psychiatric diagnoses. The 2022 Texas Jam Health & Wellness Fair is taking place
at the Dallas Ft. Worth Airport Marriott, which is located at 8440 Freeport
Parkway in Irving. For more information about VetMaps and to make a donation,
