What you`ll do


Join SAP as a Data Center Architect and become a key player in designing and
modernizing our Data Center Infrastructure. You'll lead and support critical
projects, drive technological innovation, and manage essential partner
relationships. This role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment where you
can make a substantial impact on the future of SAP’s Data Center Infrastructure.

 

Role:
As a Data Center Architect at SAP, you will be instrumental in developing,
updating, and implementing Data Center Infrastructure Standards for our 30+ Data
Centers globally.
Your role will involve providing recommendations and supporting Data Center
buildouts, extensions, and modernization projects from both a technology and
business perspective, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external
partners.
For example, you will contribute your technical expertise to our colocation
RFI/RFQ processes for all architectural requirements and lead design activities
to prepare the whitespace for the initial Compute, Network, and Storage
installations.
This position offers the opportunity to lead significant initiatives and support
others, fostering a team-oriented approach to our Data Center
Infrastructure-related projects.

What you bring

 

 * Advanced Degree: Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
 * Experience and Expertise: Minimum of 8 years as a Data Center Architect or in
   a similar role, with a focus on data center technologies and business
   practices to support management decision-making
 * Proficiency: In data center infrastructure and requirements as outlined in
   standards such as TIA-942, ISO 22237, and EN 50600
 * Project Management and ITIL: Strong experience in project management and ITIL
   practices
 * Collaboration Skills and Teamwork: Excellent ability to collaborate in a
   globally distributed, multi-cultural team and organization
 * English language skills; German beneficial

GCID is responsible for running SAP’s backend technology including operations of
state-of-the-art Data Centers and the technical platforms as integral part and
foundation for all SAP Cloud solutions and services around the globe. 
As part of the Data Center & Lifecycle Management Organization (DLS), the Data
Center Architecture and Infrastructure Management Team globally addresses the
requirements of SAP managed Data Centers.
The team creates and evolves standards and operational guides for Rack, Power
Distribution Unit, Cabling, and related technologies, contributes with technical
designs during Data Center buildout projects and assists in the installation of
cloud capacity.
The team also runs SAP’s Data Center infrastructure management solution (DCIM),
supporting various teams at SAP with required information and evaluations
enabling planning, decision making and operational support.
