Indicator description

This indicator measures the proportion of UK nationals who are refugees abroad
per 100,000 UK population and not the number of refugees residing within the UK.

Number of refugees per 100,000 population

Definitions

Refugee – persons who have fled a country due conflict, war, violence or
persecution to find safety in another country. UNHCR also define those in a
refugee-like situations as a refugee within their data. These are people
residing outside their country of origin, facing protection risks similar to
refugees but for various reasons refugee status has yet to be ascertained. For
