The Aukai I, designed and built in 2012 by R&B Boats in Eugene, OR, was created
to provide ample deck space for our guests. The large deck is perfect for
snorkeling, wildlife viewing, and enjoying various adventures. It features a
spacious area for relaxation, a shade area, and storage for all necessary gear.
The captain's helm is equipped with GPS and radar to ensure a safe and exciting
journey.

Frequently Asked Questions


Are children allowed to particpate?


We love having kids aboard! From our experience, 5 years and up tends to be the
magic age. Please inform us upon reservation as to how many kids and what ages,
as we are required to have the proper safety equipment onboard.

How many passengers can you accommodate on our trip?


You will have the boat exclusively. You can bring up to six passengers.

Does your Boat have a restroom?


Our boat offers a variety of features but unfortunately does not have restroom
facilities on-board. We recommend using the restrooms at the Marina before your
trip and we make sure to take frequent "breaks" out in the water during our
swimming and snorkeling portion of the adventure. If you have a physical
limitations or special needs, please message us and we will do everything we can
to accommodate you!


Is there parking at the marina?



YES! LOTS OF FREE PARKING.

We depart daily from the world famous Honokohau Harbor on the Kona Coast of the
Big Island of Hawaii. We meet at the pier/boat ramp just North of the restrooms.
See map below or follow our directions.

DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT

 * From the airport head East for 0.5 miles on Keahole St. 
 * Make a right onto HI-19/Queen Kaahumanu Hwy heading South for 4.6 miles. 
 * Turn right at Kealakehe Pkwy and head into Honokohau Harbor.


DIRECTIONS FROM KAILUA KONA

 * Make a left onto HI-19/Queen Kaahumanu Hwy heading North for 4.6 miles
 * Turn left at Kealakehe Pkwy and head into Honokohau Harbor.
 * Take the first right and follow the road to the North end of the Harbor.

What should I Wear and Bring?



I’M WONDERING WHAT TO WEAR/BRING. WHAT IS THE WEATHER/TRIP GOING TO BE LIKE?

Typically the air temperature will be around 70 degrees in the early morning and
will rise to 85 at midday. The sea temperature will be 76 to 80 degrees.
Seasonal changes are not real dramatic and fluctuations in these air/sea
temperatures will only vary a few degrees. In short, almost every day is a great
day for Kona sportfishing, sighseeing and snorkeling! Attire should be light and
include a hat, sunscreen, camera and sunglasses.


SWIMWEAR AND SHORTS ARE GENERALLY THE BEST BET. IT’S TYPICALLY A BAREFOOT TRIP,
TOO!

If, for any reason, attire requirements deviate you will be informed the day
before your trip (make sure we have a good contact number for you).

How long are the trips?


We offer two time slots for our trips: a morning charter lasting 5 hours and an
afternoon charter lasting 4 hours. We also offer upgrades or all-day bookings if
you are interested. We cater to your trip preferences and interests. Whether you
want to snorkel and view wildlife all day or enjoy a mix of activities, we can
accommodate your wishes. Just select your preference when you book your trip,
and we'll do our best to make your adventure unforgettable!
