Unable to download or update the app from Google play store on your Pixel
devices? Here are possible solutions to fix Google Pixel can’t download or
updates apps from the play store. Several reasons that causing this Play store
error including software updates, app updates, internet issues, play store
updates, Google play services updates, full storage, etc. Make sure the internet
connection is working when you downloading or updating apps on your phone. You
can apply below solutions to all your Pixel devices including Google Pixel,
Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel
4, Pixel 4 XL, and other latest Android devices also.

HOW TO FIX GOOGLE PIXEL NOT DOWNLOADING OR UPDATING APPS FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE






CHECK SOFTWARE UPDATE


Check any system software updates are available or not. It will fix critical
bugs and improves the performance of your Google Pixel phone.

Settings > System > about phone > System updates > Check for update (Older
Android)






Settings > System > Advanced > System Update > Check for udpate (Latest Android
10)




CHECK APP UPDATES


Check apps update available using below settings in your android device.



Open Play Store > Three horizontal linst (Menu) at the top left corner > My apps
& games > Update all


MAKE SURE WIFI OR MOBILE DATA TURNED ON

When you downloading or updating the app on your phone, check your WiFi is
connected or mobile data working. You can’t update the app if you have a slow
network connection on your phone. Use the WiFi if possible to downloading or
update app or system software.




CLEAR THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE CACHE

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap Apps & notifications.

Step 3: Tap See all apps.

Step 4: Find Google play store and tap on it.





Step 5: Tap Storage & cache.



Step 6: Tap Clear cache (Remove temporary files).



If clear cache can’t fix the issue, try clear data/clear storage (Remove all app
data) also.


FORCE STOP GOOGLE PLAY STORE APP

Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Google play store > Force stop
> OK


CLEAR CACHE DATA FOR ALL APPS

Step 1: Go to Settings in your latest android device.

Step 2: Under the device menu, tap on Storage



Here you can view used data by apps, images, videos, audio, system, cache data,
and more.



Step 3: Tap on Cache data & tap on OK

Now try to download or update apps from play store in your pixel and pixel XL
device to see fix app not update issue or not.




UNINSTALL GOOGLE PLAY STORE UPDATES TO FIX GOOGLE PIXEL WON’T DOWNLOAD APPS

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap on Apps under the device section.

Step 3: Touch Google play store.

Step 4: Touch More.







Step 5: Tap on Uninstall updates.

Step 6: Tap on OK.

Now try to download or install apps from the play store.


CHECK LATEST PLAY STORE VERSION INSTALLED ON YOUR PIXEL

Step 1: Open Google Play Store app.

Step 2: Tap on Three horizontal lines from the top of the left side corner.



Step 3: Tap on Settings.



Step 4: Tap on Play Store version under about section.

UNINSTALL GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES UPDATES




Settings > Apps > Google Play services > More > Uninstall updates > OK

After uninstalling updates, restart your Pixel phone. And try to download or
update apps from the play store and check fix problems.


ENABLE SAFE MODE


To find the app that causing this app can’t download or update the issue, Enable
safe mode in pixel phone using below given steps.

Step 1: Press and hold the power button on your Google Pixel & Pixel XL device.




Step 2: Touch and hold Power off button until view reboot to safe mode.

Step 3: Press OK to reboot safe mode.

It will take 20-30 seconds to reboot your device.

Step 4: View the “Safe mode” at the bottom left side corner.

Now, all downloaded apps disable in your Pixel phone. Check app download or
update apps from the play store in your Google Pixel device. If you can’t found
any issue, it means any third party downloaded apps causing this issue. Delete
one by one recently downloaded app and find the app that causing a problem. And
remove it from your device. To exit safe mode on Google Pixel XL phone, press
and hold the power button and tap on the Restart option.



Check fix problems or not in your device. If none of the above-given solutions
fix android won’t download apps issue, Wipe cache partition on Google Pixel.


FACTORY RESET YOUR PHONE


It will erase all your pixel device data, Google account, photos & videos, and
third party downloaded apps from your device. Before the factory date reset your
Pixel phone, back up & restore Google Pixel data.

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap on Backup & reset under the personal section.


Step 3: Tap Factory data reset.



Step 4: Touch Reset phone.

Step 5: Touch Erase everything.

Alternative Way (Latest Android 10):



Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > ERase all data > Erase all data >
Confirm you pattern > Erase all data
