Our program honors and empowers children to engage their whole selves in
education. Our students engage their bodies, minds, and emotions to make
meaning, form relationships, and develop an understanding of themselves as
active members of a community.

> “Your school has been such an incredible foundation for our family and one of
> the most powerful resources we could have ever imagined. You’ve given us tools
> we didn’t even realize we needed. Yet, when challenging moments arose, we
> noticed we were equipped and knew it was because of our time at CCS.”

Elizabeth D., parent

> “There is a great playground with a sandbox, and the classes have kind
> teachers, and there’s a lot of free space in the common room and the yard. . .
> . [The teachers] are kind. They help kids when they have a problem.”

CCS Alum, Age 6

> “CCS has been such a great spot for our kids. Our kids are nurtured and
> listened too. They have opportunities to explore, create, and question all
> while being properly scaffolded and supported. The teaching staff are
> extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Our kids learn skills that help them
> feel empowered and engaged in their friendships and community.”

Caleb Arnold, parent

> “When [my partner] told me that she was taking a second job so we could afford
> to send our sons to a preschool allllll the way in West Philly, I thought she
> had lost her marbles . . . . I was completely wrong. This year at CCS the kids
> have learned so many skills of independence and have increased their problem
> solving and interpersonal skills. . . . The teachers really cared about our
> kids and kept them safe, and they brought out the absolute best in [our oldest
> son] especially, seeing the great parts of him that can take a little bit to
> get to know. His only problem with CCS was that he wanted to stay there ‘until
> it gets dark outside, every day.’ It was so nice to be sending our kids
> somewhere where we trusted 100% that they were getting the absolute best. The
> best part of all is that now the kids have a positive association with what
> school is and can be. That is something that is so important and wonderful. I
> cannot recommend this place enough.”

Krys Belc, parent

> “I want to give huge props to [the Magnolia teachers] for the work they did
> when CCS moved online. . . . I’m not exaggerating when I say that the work the
> Magnolia teachers did could win a national award (Are there any awards like
> this? I would nominate them in a heartbeat). . . . the teachers were full of
> joy and play interacting with the children. . . . It was clear that the
> teachers poured their heart and souls into this care for the children and [my
> child] definitely felt it. She missed her teachers greatly and knew that they
> loved her. All of these efforts helped her stay connected with her CCS
> experience and provided enrichment during a very challenging time.”

parent in 2020

> “The children were happy and engaged in joyful learning, teachers made
> transitions gentle and smooth, and small groups provided opportunities for
> discussion and relationship building.  I also enjoyed your outside playground
> and how children could flow from playing independently to joining with a
> peer—or lay on the ground with a teacher to look up at the sky.”
