AND ALWAYS WE STRIVE TO FULFIL OUR CREDO - "AT HOMEKIT AUSTRALIA, QUALITY IS NOT AN OCCASIONAL CONCERN BUT A RELENTLESS DEDICATION." Products FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do HomeKit Australia’s products have such low prices? HomeKit Australia offers you affordable products as we source directly from our supplier and OEM factories. In doing this, we totally remove the "middleman" or state and national distribution and agencies, all of whom need to make their own profit, prior to a retail selling price being set. We also remove the cost of shifting stock between warehouses and deliver orders above $99 with free Express delivery within Australia. For example if you order Thunderbolt products (other than Thunderbolt cables), they will be delivered by Express Post, totally free of charge. How long will my order take to reach me? We use Australia Post to deliver our products and almost always ship from our warehouse the same day as you order. The fastest way to receive goods (apart from local collection) is to select Express Post delivery at checkout. If you place an order for $99 or above this is automatically provided to you, free of charge. For example, almost all of our Thunderbolt products, therefore, ship Express Post totally free of charge. Express Post can take from overnight to 3 days, depending on your location. COVID delivery restrictions in some Australian states may delay deliveries. Standard Post can take from 1 to 10 days for delivery. We suggest that if you live in an eastern seaboard state, you choose to pay an extra $2 for Express delivery. Of course if your purchase totals $99 or more you receive Express Post for FREE. Expect 7 to 15 days for international delivery. All deliveries, including international orders, are live tracked by Australia Post and you will receive updates and advice of impending delivery. Please be aware that we are only able to lodge deliveries with Australia Post on business days which do not include weekends nor local public holidays. Feel free to also check our Shipping Policy. My product is not as I thought. Can I return it? We will always accept returns or make good on products that are incorrectly processed or delivered or damaged during shipping. If the product is not as described, you may also return this product. However, we do not refund purchases where size, dimensions and the like are clearly outlined but not read or checked by the purchaser. Also, please read the shipping and returns policies for a more expansive answer or simply email us at shop@homekitaustralia.com.au How long does a MagSafe wireless charger take to charge? Magsafe charges your iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and some Android devices at up to 15w. So an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 will charge from flat to 50% battery power in an hour. Please be aware that most Mag chargers will max out at around 12w power output (many cheaper units much less than this) and only Apple branded or Certified Apple MFI MagSafe chargers will provide the full 15w charge. Does the Thunderbolt cable come with all Thunderbolt products? Very often, the simple answer is no, you will need to purchase a separate Thunderbolt cable. When we first began stocking Thunderbolt 4 products we reviewed likely competitor offerings and they almost never included a certified Thunderbolt cable. In order to be judged apples vs apples we elected to do the same and reduce the cost of purchasing each Thunderbolt product. However, you will find that we offer what we consider as equal to world's best Thunderbolt cables in lengths of 1 metre and 1.8 metres .... and at reasonable cost. Our latest Thunderbolt video dock does include a Thunderbolt cable, so please always check each product description and specification summary. All our cables - including Thunderbolt cables - are produced for us in a facility that holds four separate Apple MFI cable certifications. So, not all our cables are MFI certified. You will see in our product descriptions, which cables are Apple MFI certified and which not. Please read both the product description and specification product specifications prior to placing your order. Is Thunderbolt faster than an internal SSD? And how long is a piece of string. There's no definitive answer to this general question but often the answer is "yes". One of the real attractions of Thunderbolt 4 is that it accesses the host's internal PCIe bus, so for the first time, you can use external devices connected by Thunderbolt without installing the device - like a Solid State Drive - internally within the computer. We have some very in-depth articles that we've written on Thunderbolt, so please start to explore these Thunderbolt information articles in our News Blog. Can I use an iPad or laptop charger to charge my iPhone? If you are using a HomeKit Australia GaN charger, the answer is - Yes, you can. Most of our AC chargers produce a higher wattage than required by your iPhone. However, our GaN chargers are "smart" chargers and only supply the power being requested by your device. For example an iPhone 13 that is near flat will request up to 25w from the AC charger and then a trickle charge once it hits 80% charge. Please be aware many "cheapie" chargers do not offer your device or its battery, this level of protection. Is a USB-C hub the same as a docking station? The terms can be easily interchanged. At HomeKit Australia we prefer to use the term hub for USB and USB-C devices and reserve the term docking station for Thunderbolt devices. For example we have an 8 port USB-C hub and a Thunderbolt docking station. The Thunderbolt docking station is a much more powerful device and simply they are quite different devices with quite different prices./collections/hubs-docking What is MFI? MFI means Made For iPhone. Our MFI products are clearly identified in the product descriptions and specification. For example all HomeKit Australia cables are made within a facility that holds four separate Apple MFI certifications. The process to obtain MFI certification is long, arduous and expensive. Unfortunately many retailers will say their product is MFI certified but often it is not. You can request the factory name holding the MFI certification, confirm that the accreditation matches the product and check the certification at Apple's MFI webpage. Just so you know, all of our cables are exclusively produced by SOCW and you will see their 4 separate MFI certifications on Apple's website. Do you carry Apple HealthKit accessories? Yes, we do have Apple HealthKit accessories ... but they are running out fast. Whilst we still have stock, check out our Smart Apple Healthkit Body Scale. These HealthKit scales have their own app for additional niceties like body fat, subcutaneous fat rate, and BMR. It can also synchronise with other Apple devices. Does external SSD faster than a traditional hard drive? Yes. When you add an SSD or Solid State Drive, it will be significantly faster than a traditional HDD. For instance, quick system shut down, reboot and app launch, everything will happen in a blink of an eye as compared to traditional hard drives. What is the safe distance between a mobile phone and people when it is charging? Bottom line is .... if you purchased the charger from a reputable Australian retailer and your charger has Australian electrical safety certification - that's RCM (nee SAA), you should not have any safety issues. However, if the charger you buy is not tested and certified for safe use in Australia, we would be very reticent about ever using it. Your charger should have at least RCM (SAA) and usually a combination of CCC, CE, ROHS, GS, CB, PSE, or ETL. All components of such chargers will be designed and produced in accordance with these standard specifications. An AC charger meeting these specifications will have multiple protection functions such as over-current protection, over-voltage protection and short-circuit protection. At HomeKit Australia we follow a simple policy - if it plugs in, it must have RCM (SAA) certification. If not, we don't sell it. Should I upgrade RAM or SSD to speed up my laptop? In our opinion, you need to do both. Installing a SSD and upgrading RAM will considerably speed up even an ageing notebook. Solid State Drives provide a substantial performance boost, and RAM will get the most out of your operating system and apps that you use. Remember, we now carry 2.5" external HDD or SSD cases for your old hard drives. Is Thunderbolt faster than any other SSDs in the market? Short answer, yes. Thunderbolt 4 offers up to 40Gbps data transfer, dependent on the actual SSD that is inside the Thunderbolt case or Thunderbolt docking station.
