VeraCrypt is a free disk encryption software brought to you by IDRIX
(https://www.idrix.fr) and based on TrueCrypt 7.1a.

It adds enhanced security to the algorithms used for system and partitions
encryption making it immune to new developments in brute-force attacks. It also
solves many vulnerabilities and security issues found in TrueCrypt.

This enhanced security adds some delay ONLY to the opening of encrypted
partitions without any performance impact to the application use phase. This is
acceptable to the legitimate owner but it makes it much harder for an attacker
to gain access to the encrypted data.

All released files are PGP signed with key ID=0x680D16DE, available on key
servers and downloadable at

VeraCrypt can mount TrueCrypt volumes. It also can convert them to VeraCrypt
format.

   I don't know if my question is at the correct position here, but: after
   updating to 1.26.x i have no more possibility to use tokens. The version of
   the PKCS#11 library i used before (a file called cmP1164.dll, part of the
   Charismathics Smart Security Interface PKCS#11 Module) is no longer accepted.
   If i install an older version of VC (same Windows version) everything is
   fine. Thanks for your ideas.

   one is just a hidden volume, the others are empty. None opens with the
   password, but i´ve gut a few possibilities... so... how do i know at least

   On the PC with 20.04 I have X11 while on the other , with 22.04 ,I have
   Wayland. I tried to switch to X11 but the problem persists. The only
   difference is that now I have the following message : Password not correct or
   the object is not a veracrypt volume. So the problem is not the display
   server.

   I have reproduced this error. In the process of creating a container using
   "use all available free space" option in the process of formatting a
   container the space on the ext4 partition becomes equal to zero. Container
   file just impossible to create after that. It is reproduced with both ntfs
   and ext4 formatted container. Reproduced on Linux Mint 21.1, VeraCrypt 2.26.7
   and kernel 6.5.0-1009-oem using AES algorythm. Please note, that unlike in
   original poster case, the issue was reproduced on ext4...

   A worthy successor to TrueCrypt. Brings many optimizations and improvements
   while maintaining backwards compatibility: version 1.25.9 still works on old
   Windows XP.

   I like this tool. I was working with TrueCrypt before and moved on to
   VeraCrypt. No problems up so far - works great and does exactly what I want.

   I would have give Veracrypt five stars but tonight i really tought i would
   lose precious data (encrypted passwords and financial data) Let me explain:
   Since years, i used an older (and perfectly working) version of Veracrypt.
   Tonight, i wanted to upgrade to the latest version (1.25.9)... ...I may have
   done something wrong, but on new installation: 1 - i lost my encrypted
   containers ! Fortunately, i had backups. 2 - On 1.25.9, i got a warning
   telling me that using Windows 10 fast startup, there would be bugs... 3 - On
   1.25.9, i had driver issues due to my older Veracrypt !!! 4 - I got a warning
   of "Read-only" archives.. Finally, i removed all traces of 1.25.9 and gone
   back to my older version. My most imporant advice: ABSOLUTELY KEEP A
   PLAINTEXT (UNENCRYPTED) VERSION OF ALL YOUR PRIVATE DATA BEFORE UPGRADING
   VERACRYPT !!!!!
