QASIM and ALHENA Menu * Home * RSVP * Events * Travel * Q&A * The Q&A Wedding More OUR STORY Qasim and Alhena's love story began unexpectedly at a wedding in Monte Carlo, Monaco, one warm July evening in 2023. It was on the last night of the festivities that Qasim mustered the courage to introduce himself to Alhena, catching her just before she was about to call it a night. A mere week later, they found themselves in an escape room, testing their problem-solving skills and discovering an undeniable connection in the process. Despite their inability to escape the room's challenges, they found that they were the perfect partners in crime, even if they couldn't outsmart a locked door! Back in London, Qasim took Alhena by surprise as he dropped to one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. With two months of engagement already behind them, Alhena joyfully accepted, knowing that their love story was just beginning. As Qasim and Alhena embark on this new chapter of their love story, they extend their deepest gratitude to each and every one of their cherished guests for joining them on this special day. The booking link will be made available to you soon. Please make your booking by May 1st 2024. If you have any doubts on booking or need to adjust your reservation in a different way please contact us. FLIGHTS We would recommend you fly into Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon (LIS). All of our events will be in Lisbon, or in the surrounding Lisbon area. In order for us to arrange a seamless check-in for you at Epic SANA Marqûes, we kindly ask that you personally provide us with your flight details. THINGS TO DO Explore Lisbon: Discover the vibrant soul of Europe's second-oldest capital. Wander through history at the ancient Castle of S. Jorge, take in the grandeur of Comércio Square, and immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of Fado in Alfama. Don't forget to savor the iconic "Pastéis de Nata" near the majestic Torre de Belem. Experience Cascais: Escape to the charming coastal town of Cascais, where Victorian-era charm meets cosmopolitan flair. Explore the scenic bay area, marvel at the natural wonder of "Boca do Inferno," and indulge in the culinary delights of Casa da Guia. Take a leisurely drive along Guincho Beach for stunning views of golden dunes and the Sintra mountain. Uncover Sintra: Embark on a fairytale journey through the hills of Serra de Sintra. Marvel at the whimsical architecture of Pena Palace, explore the mystical gardens of Quinta da Regaleira, and wander through the exotic flora of Monserrate Palace. Don't miss the chance to taste the traditional pastries at Piriquita—it's a true delight for the senses. Q&A Will there be special accommodations made for food? Please rest assured that the food throughout all of the events will be fully halal and alcohol-free. We will also have vegetarian options present. If you have any special dietary requirements or allergies, please do let us know. What is the dress code? Please be mindful that we have added a dress code for our Reception and our Dîner En Blanc. Our Reception is black tie and glamorous. Our Dîner En Blanc is white coloured attire only. Please do your best to adhere to these dress codes. Additionally, the Nikkah will be on grass and we would encourage women to wear block heels or flats so that you are not uncomfortable during the Nikkah ceremony. Should we book the wedding hotel? We highly recommend booking your stay at the Epic SANA Marqûes for our wedding festivities, as we have secured a room block ensuring availability and special rates. As well as arranged transportation to and from venues, organised halal breakfast daily, and all logistics are catered to this centrally located hotel in the heart of Lisbon. What is the weather like in Portugal in September? Daytime temperatures usually reach 27°C in Lisbon in September with low heat and humidity, falling to 17°C at night. Are plus ones allowed, and are children welcome? We're having a small, intimate wedding and can only accommodate those who received a personal invitation due to venue constraints. We kindly ask for no substitutions or extra guests. Thank you for your understanding. Will any part of the Wedding Weekend be unplugged? Our Nikkah Ceremony will be unplugged. You may, of course, use your phone prior to and after the actual ceremony. However, we do kindly ask that you keep your phones away and avoid taking photos and filming during the ceremony. How will I get to the venues? We have arranged for transportation for all of our guests staying at Epic SANA Marquês, to and from each event. Unfortunately, we are unable to further accommodate your transportation if you are not staying at the Epic SANA Marqûes. When is the deadline for submitting our reception food selection? As our reception is a formal and name seated event, you will be able to pre-select your meal prior to the event. Please specify which member of your party will have which meal. Please do this by May 1st 2024.
