What is the BCBS 2023 Financial Training Program?
The virtual Financial Training Program provides attendees with an orientation to
Blue Cross and Blue Shield financial accounting and reporting issues with
special emphasis on the participant’s role in Plan financial activities.

What will be covered?
The program will:

 * Help the participant better understand the various BCBS Plan health benefit
   programs and the proper methods for reporting to the Association
 * Provide the participant with a better understanding of the history and role
   of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and the programs administered by
   BCBSA, such as FEP and BlueCard
 * Introduce the participant to current and future industry and financial issues
   through experienced BCBSA guest lecturers and external consultants

The training program will be on Tuesday, June 27 – Thursday, June 29 from 10
a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CT each day.

Who Should Attend?
BCBS Plan staff who are looking to enhance their understanding of health
industry finance issues and BCBSA programs, regardless of experience or
position.

CPE Accreditation

Program Level: Basic.
Delivery Method:  Group Internet Based.
Field of Study: Specialized Knowledge

Attendees are eligible to earn up to 14 CPE credits.  There are no prerequisites
for this program.  No advance preparation is required.  Sponsored learning
activities are measured by program length, with one 50-minute period equal to
one CPE credit.  One-half CPE credit increments (equal to 25 minutes) are
permitted after the first credit has been earned in a given learning activity. 
Please note that not all state boards have adopted this rule.  Some participants
may not be able to use one-half credit increments

 

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association is registered with the National
Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing
professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of
accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE
credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the
National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website:
