HATE IMPACTS US ALL


HATE INCIDENTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES ARE SURGING, DEVASTATING INDIVIDUALS AND
ENTIRE COMMUNITIES.

Hundreds of organizations in communities across the country work to combat hate
every day. To help combat this increase and support those organizations, the
Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law launched the James Byrd Jr. Center
to Stop Hate.

RESOURCES TO COMBAT HATE

The Lawyers’ Committee serves as a resource for organizations and individuals
combating hate in their respective communities.


HATE CRIME LAWS

It is more imperative than ever during times of heightened sensitivities that
community members are familiar with the laws that protect them.


COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Hate only wins when it divides us.  When an individual is victimized by hate, it
impacts entire communities. A powerful response to hate is demonstrating
community values of strength, unity, and inclusion.


REPORTING HATE

In addition to responding to requests for legal and social services resources
from organizations, the 1-844-9-NO-HATE resource hotline helps to build an
accurate public record of these incidents.
