EPLAYMENT LAUNCHES ITS FIRST PIXEL CLASSROOM SERIES

A Creator Connect Workshop: Writing a Compelling Narrative for Your Content
Eplayment kicked off its first creator workshop, the PIXEL Classroom, last
February 24, 2024 at Quezon City. Selected content creators from different
backgrounds have attended the class, with the intent to attain the same goal of
learning more about content writing. Karla Gacusana, a TV writer, was invited to
mentor the workshop for PIXEL Classroom's first series entitled Writing a
Compelling Story for Your Content. The workshop highlighted the importance of
having a core as a creative living. This pointed out creators to know
theirselves first - what are the things they love and the content they want to
produce out of it. Gacusana also shared a guideline for content creators to
effectively create compelling content online. The Path to Creation, her personal
notes, explained the importance of identifying one's purpose in making content,
knowing their audience, and building a brand first before proceeding with
creating content. The four-hour session intended to equip content creators with
enough basic understanding of writing content with hopes that they can utilize
what they have learned into application. This year, Eplayment has planned
various creator-centric activities that aim to help aspiring and growing
creators to thrive more in producing oustanding content online that would
influence brand building and monetization. PIXEL Classroom will continue its
second session on March 16, 2024, offering a new course - Visual Storytelling
Through Video Editing with Alexces Megan Abarquez-Baliao, MARXCES Post
Co-founder & Operations Manager. This goal of this series is to teach content
creators to make compelling stories translated effectively through engaging and
captivating video online content. The workshop will be open to all content
creators who want to become more proficient about the topic. The PIXEL Classroom
series is just one of Eplayment's initiatives to help content creators achieve
their goals, thrive in the industry, and get better monetization from the
content they produce. We at Eplayment will continue to empower and support
content creators by offering free avenues to learn, earn, and grow. About

MOM, I'M A CONTENT CREATOR

Content creation wasn't always a thing, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't
been around. There were already so many people creating content before it was
cool,” then suddenly everyone is making their content. When YouTube launched
in 2004, there were only very few videos uploaded and most of them were paid
and/or sponsored content. I remember back in the day laughing at those people
who upload random videos and thinking, what are they doing? Now, I'm one of
them. Back then, the only content we understood was BLOGS, yes, that's with a B.
A type of text content in which we write our thoughts, such as this one. When
YouTube came, people started posting videos of how their days looked like, which
somehow gave the audience a peek at their lives. like in reality TV. Slowly came
the DIY videos of pretty much anything under the sun to cooking videos that we
only used to see on TV. Then came the Pewdipie era! Video game content and
walkthroughs became a huge thing, especially for gaming fans. The big business
brains realized the dollar potential of gaming so they thought, if people watch
these recorded video games, why not make it happen live? And so comes Twitch and
Facebook Live. Now, don't shoot me if I am confusing the timelines of these
platforms, I am merely trying to look back at how our lives as content creators
started. And when we thought this was the peak of content creation, short-form
videos have started emerging and became a thing through TikTok. Now, every
platform wants in. By 2024, the number of content creators in the world have
grown tremendously. Everyone seems to be making content in the hopes of reaching
enough virality to make money out of it. With the ever-changing landscape and
stiff competition, it is really hard to make money out of content creation
alone. Am I encouraging you to stop? Far from it. Keep going. The content
creation industry is unlikely to go away anytime soon. The relevance of content
creation has proven true as it provides precise targeting, costs are a lot lower
than traditional advertising and marketing strategies, ease of measurement and
adjustment, high return on investment (ROI), and building a community along with
your brand organically. The value it provides the audience is what sets it
apart. While in the Philippines, content creation has been mostly about
streaming games and vlogging about one's daily life, there are so many types of
content out there that people might have not yet realized. Creating content is
not just merely about posting something on Facebook or X, and hoping for it to
be viral. But we can all agree that these platforms are known to blow things out
of proportion in terms of reach and engagement. From one interesting post on
social, people start digging into what other things a creator does and expecting
that piqued interest and create something worth coming back for. Content
creation is a process of generating topic ideas that appeal to your audience,
creating written or visual content around those ideas, and making that
information accessible to your audience as a blog, video, infographic, or other
content formats. Your audience might be buyers, communities, listeners,
advocates, or some particular niche you have specifically targeted. In most
cases, your audience and your community define who you are as a creator. I
started making content by doing live game streaming videos. I did that for less
than a year and when I was at the peak of my “streaming career,” I built a
decent following and some sort of community around it and ever since then,
anything I post becomes “content”. It could be anything on what I just ate
or where I currently went. People started to be interested in my life outside of
gaming. Eventually, maybe or maybe not, you as a creator will become
the content. We will never be able to fully understand how your content will
become viral and crack the code to figure out the analytics behind each trending
post. Unfortunately, there are still not enough studies that will give you an
exact formula on how to do it. However, there are a lot of best practices that
you can follow to be successful in this industry, one day at a time. …or you
can just try what I like to do. Call my mom and ask her to share my content! ;
