The circuit-vented fixtures must connect to the circuit-vented branch in the
horizontal plane to limit the amount of turbulence created by fixture discharge.

The flow velocity in the horizontal branch is slow and non-turbulent, thereby
preventing pressure differentials from affecting the connecting fixtures. The
air for venting the fixtures circulates in the top half of the horizontal branch
drain pipe. The principle of circuit venting is that the flow of drainage never
exceeds a half-full flow condition. The venting method has long been recognized
by the plumbing community and is included in the American Society of Plumbing
Engineers Data Book. Hunter’s research at the National Bureau of Standards and
reported in BMS 66. The research concluded that the single vent for the eight
fixtures provided the necessary protection of the trap seal. Extensive research
into the performance of circuit vented systems was conducted at the State
University of Iowa. Circuit venting is one of these methods and it has been
laboratory and field-tested, establishing a long history of satisfactory
service.

The IPC has a variety of methods that can be used to vent plumbing fixtures and
traps. The Single Stack Vent System was introduced into the IPC in the 2012 e
dition and is based on a drainage stack system in the c ity of Philadelphia
(Pennsylvania) Plumbing Code, which has been used successfully in many
multi-story and high-rise buildings for more than 100 years. The performance of
the combination waste and vent system was verified in test s conducted at the
Stevens Institute of Technology. The combination waste and vent system is based
on the same premise as the circuit-vented system. The plumbing community has
long recognized this venting method and it is included in the ASPE Data Book : A
Plumbing Engineer’s Guide to System Design and Specifications. Hunter’s research
and reported in BMS 66 ( a methodology for determining necessary pipe sizing by
estimating maximum demand on the delivery and drainage systems ). In this last
of a four-part series of articles, we look at the three remaining venting
methods in the IPC: circuit venting, combination waste and vent systems, and
single stack vent systems. The venting methods have also been field-tested,
establishing a long history of satisfactory service. The methods have been
laboratory tested to determine sizing and installation requirements that provide
proper venting to a drainage system. You will find that these venting provisions
offer the installer and designer different paths to achieving an adequately
vented system, which could result in cost savings along with ease of

has made the startling revelation that she could’ve been the feisty Vivian, who
charms. Julia Roberts established herself as a leading actress in 1990’s Pretty

five. Michigan has appeared in the most White Out games, currently sitting at
six. During these games, Zombie Nation's Kernkraft 400 is often played after a
big play. All White Out games are showcased with an advanced fireworks display
lining the east and west (long ends) of Beaver Stadium. It has been described as
"the best atmosphere in college football." It is also among the most expensive
regular season games of college football, with ticket prices ranging upwards of
$250. The White Out is a tradition at the Pennsylvania State University during
select Nittany Lions home football games, where all spectators come dressed in

Katherine Asman fielded the ball cleanly on a short hop to end the threat. Penn
State was able to find the first good scoring chance in the 11th minute, but
Mackiewicz made a sliding save on a Payton Linnehan run to keep the game
scoreless. Now we’ve checked that box of going to the college cup, and we’re in

in the semifinal in Cary, N.C.
