The Stoics believed that things which were somewhat dependent upon our control, the ones we have some influence over, were categorized as “not within our control,” the reason being that we simply do not have full control over fate, we only have control over ourselves within a given situation. This means that we have even less control over things than we convince ourselves we have. My advice? Control what you can, which to be honest, is a very short an concise list. Your reactions. Your reactions. Your reactions. Learn how to control how you react and fully embrace how little control we have and you'll begin to release a lot of the anxiety that builds up in us overtime which then leads to burnout. This isn't to say we essentially don't have any control or influence, almost the opposite. But COMPLETE control? Thats where we often lose sight of reality and end up consistently worried, overwhelmed and anxious. Pretty insane! I ran a report this morning and somehow, only 162 of my personal clients do NOT have a 2nd or 3rd policy written - these clients are mostly just investors - maybe even live out of state - so I only insure 1 rental for them in Michigan. Going to be doing my best to reach out to every one of these people in the following weeks and see if we can discuss the benefits of an Umbrella policy for their rental, or if they do live here in Michigan, looking at their Home and Auto insurance as well. They already trust us with their rental - so why not give us a shot on their personal as well. Fine tuning your business never stops.
