Welcome to Vassar Automotive, in Santa Rosa CA. We specialize in vintage
air-cooled Volkswagen repairs, but service all foreign and domestic makes and
models as well. We are a family owned and operated business that is licensed,
insured, & state certified! From oil changes to engine rebuilding, we pay
attention to every detail. We take the time to do the job right the first time.
We have a computerized system that allows us to track our customers’ vehicle
history to check for the last service performed and any recommendations we found

A large portion of our work is vintage VW’s. We keep most work in-house
providing alignments, drum and rotor turning, and complete engine rebuilding. We
can perform all mechanical restorations on VW’s except for body and paint. For
vintage VW’s we do not purchase rebuilt engines for re-sale. All of the
air-cooled engines are custom-built in-house. We provide a spec sheet showing
compression ratio, engine, and tune-up specs. We strive to build them as if they
came straight from the factory. Our customer base has many daily drivers as well
as Sunday show cars.
