Where the Hudson River's gentle waves lull the metropolis into a rhythmic
trance, an extraordinary tale begins. A mysterious force stirs beneath the
surface of the dark waters. The city's fate is about to be entwined with the
enigmatic dance of squids. There are squids in NYC!

Hi, I'm Samarth Bhatia, a brand identity designer

driven by a passion for art direction and creative strategy. Currently, I'm
studying at Parsons

School of Design in New York.




With my roots in industrial design, my transition

into the visual communication realm stems from

A$AP MOB is a hip-hop group from Harlem, New York. The group has inspired me
through their authenticity of expression, smooth production. I wanted to pay
homage to their history, impact and legacy, through the fusion of formal and the
animated.

The exhibition investigated how embodied and sensorial experience can suggest a
different formulation of the city as a more-than-human collectivity. Living
habitats, interspecies relations and bodily presences are explored as ways

to question ways of urban living.

This art zine is a study of the diverse, sometimes subtle, pockets and palettes
of color within Manhattan. Each panel shimmers of the vibrancy offered by the
city.

Colored by all sorts of thoughts and emotions, a quiet storm churning within. At
the same time, I’ve observed that being involved in the process of
conceptualizing, and crafting stories brings me to a certain state of clarity,
through all the chaos. The melodies and visuals are born out of play, and
gratitude for the creative process.
