ABOUT UNDERWATER HOCKEY Underwater hockey is a non-contact sport in which two teams compete to manoeuvre a puck across the bottom of a swimming pool into goals. The sport of Underwater Hockey is played across Australia and has a long history here (the first Australian Championships were held in 1975). Equipment Players wear a diving mask, fins and a snorkel for play. Safety gear includes ear protection usually in the form of a water polo cap, a mouthguard, and a glove.
