In today's hyper-connected world, it’s a challenge for businesses to efficiently
manage the huge volume of interactions either with their customers or employees.
It’s even more arduous given that these interactions happen on various channels
and in different languages. Ignoring this often leads to poor end-user/customer
experiences. It’s critical to provide instant, personalized, and contextual
responses to users. This can be achieved by leveraging appropriate technologies
to automate such routine business interactions. More specifically, it means
delivering extraordinary experiences using AI-native automation and augmentation
across voice and digital channels, resulting in optimal business outcomes.
The Kore.ai Experience Optimization (XO) Platform - is recognized as a leader in
the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Conversational AI Platforms. The
no-code platform offers end-to-end capabilities to build (design, test, train),
deploy and manage AI-first virtual assistants to automate and optimize up to 80%
of the front and back-office business interactions.
Problem statement:
In this hackathon, a contestant team will need to focus on developing an
Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA) using the Kore.ai XO Platform to solve a
credible business use case or problem and improve the experiences for customers
or employees or any other stakeholder from the industry of their choice but
preferably:
* Retail and Commerce
* Recruitment
* Healthcare
* Banking

Success criteria for your IVA:
* Must be deployed at least on one channel
* Must greet users and also able to exit gracefully in the event of
out-of-scope utterances
* Must be able to understand the user’s intent and provide appropriate
responses
* Efficiency and uniqueness of the solution
* Your IVA must be trained for a sufficient number of utterances and quality of
responses
Bonus points for
* Ability to handle Smalltalk
* Multilingual Bot
* Deployment into multiple channels (messengers, web, mobile, voice etc.)
* Integration with real applications/database
* Superior user experience with conversational language
* Personalization
* Voice channel and digital UX.
Prerequisite for attending the MCQs & IVA building challenge:
1. Signup and complete the Kore.ai Academy Hackathon Concepts Modules:
https://academy.kore.ai/channeldetail/hackathon-april-2022. This will help
you clear the MCQ round as well as earn a certificate from Kore.ai.
2. Login to the Kore.ai Experience Optimization Platform:
https://bots.kore.ai/botbuilder. In stage 2, this is where you will build
your intelligent virtual assistant to solve a business problem.
Note: You must register with the same email id that you’ve used to register for
the TechGig account.

* This competition will have three levels — a screening round (with multiple
choice questions online), online hackathon round and the online Grand Finale.
* Maximum two attempts in the screening round. The higher score of the two
attempts will be used as the final score.
* Based on the screening round, participants will be allowed to compete in the
second round. Participants need to score 40% or more to qualify for round
two.
* You can have 1-4 members in your team once you enter round two. You can
either invite your friends to form a team or you can request other teams to
add you as a member.
* Once you qualify for the second round, you will get an option to submit your
prototype. Your fully functional virtual assistant prototype must be
developed on the Kore.ai Experience Optimization Platform during the
hackathon period. You may use open-source libraries, publicly available
datasets, and other freely available systems or frameworks.
* You must submit 1 page document/slide/video explaining specific business
problem your virtual assistant is addressing, how it works (sample
utterances), and outcome to expect from your virtual assistant, and anything
that will help us understand and evaluate your solution.
* You can submit as many times as you want. The last hack will be considered
the final submission.
* Kore.ai employees are not allowed to participate.
1. Application/Solution source: should contain all the necessary source files.
2. readme.txt: This should contain clear step-by-step instructions on how to
build, deployment and usages of the Applications.
3. Presentation.pptx: This should contain a description of what you have tried
to build, what problem you are solving and why your Application/solution
should be considered for the final round.
4. Video: showing the demo functionalities of the application
Success criteria for your IVA:

I have attempted a problem. Can I improve my score?
Yes, you can improve your score till you have attempts left in the question.
I have attempted a question in a level twice, which score of mine will be
considered and added to the leaderboard?
The score which is highest in the hackathon will be considered and added to your
leaderboard. Suppose you are participating in the Easy category and you score 50
marks and 70 marks in your 2 available attempts. In this case, 70 marks will be
added to your final score on the leaderboard.
Can I view others' solutions?
No, you can not.
In what format do files need to be uploaded?
You can upload this as ZIP, GZ, RAR or 7z archives. The maximum file size limit
is 300 MB.
Your virtual assistant prototype must be submitted on Kore.ai Experience
Optimization Platform.
Your solution description can be submitted in 1 pager document, PDF, PPT or
Video format.
How can I choose my final submission?
You can choose your final submission by selecting your submission from the My
Submission list. By default, your latest submission is considered as the final
submission.
My score is showing as “Not Evaluated.” What does that mean?
Your entry has not yet been seen by the jury. Once the jury gives you a score
for your submission, your marks will be updated.
How will I know when my submission is evaluated by a jury?
You will receive a mail from TechGig containing your marks and any
remarks/suggestions given by the jury.
What is the winning criteria?
The winners’ list may be different from the LeaderBoard Final list due to the
following reasons:
If any candidate is found to have duplicate accounts for any kind of reasons,
they will be disqualified even if the candidate scores the highest marks.
If two or more candidates are found to have the same code, they will all be
disqualified. Prizes related to any category will be delivered only after the
completion of the hackathon.
How are prizes awarded?
Prize winners will be chosen by a jury. In all matters, the decision of the jury
shall be final, and no correspondence or discussion shall be taken into account.
Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
Prizes are awarded at the discretion of the Jury, and no prizes will be awarded
as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any entrant.

* You can only participate in hackathon with single ID. A participant using
multiple IDs to participate in the hackathon will be disqualified.
* All individual Participants should ensure to enter their personal/work email

* If you encounter any problem during an ongoing hackathon, you can write to us
at customercare@techgig.com. We will try and address it in the best possible
manner.
* Once the final submission is made, user agrees to the following
* Solution submitted has been developed by him/her. If similar solution is
found in the hackathon, it will be treated as plagiarism and will lead to
disqualification of the participants

raised further
