FRED AGAIN.. @ THE SHRINE EXPO HALL [10/31/23]

By: Michaela Marquand

On Halloween night, 5,000 energetic fans gathered to watch the London-based Fred
Gibson, professionally known as “Fred again..” embark on an extraordinary quest:
a run of concerts that, when finished, would set the record for the most
consecutive shows ever performed by a single artist at the Shrine. It was a
uniquely historic moment, memorialized by palpable audience enthusiasm and a
soundtrack capturing the ethos of a post-pandemic world.

LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER PERFECT DAY (WE LOVE L.A.)

By: Digi-Press Fallterns <3

Their plan was to cut open the city, reach into the belly of Los Angeles;
observe its diverse, gregarious characters and attempt to weave them together
with its cultural cache. It’s a haven for migrants, gourmands, and dreamers
that’s been creatively, chaotically, chopped up into passive B-roll footage,
artificial studio lots, and glamorous pop lyrics.

TV GIRL @ THE OBSERVATORY OC [12/17/23]

By: Kayla Hayashi and Ava London

Think about the average TV Girl Fan. They’re lonely. They’re depressed. They’re
morally bankrupt. They’re actually bankrupt. They have no friends. They don’t go
outside. They’re addicted to their phones, and honestly they don’t smell very
good most of the time! That’s who listens to TV Girl.” As said by none other
than lead vocalist Brad Petering, TV Girl embraces the misfits, the lonely
hearts, and the smartphone-drenched souls, and he’s made it his new mission to
bestow a touch of divine intervention.

TASTING SWEET JUSTICE: AN INTERVIEW WITH TKAY MAIDZA

By: Jeslyn Wang, Chloe Ling, and Shaurya Mathur

Sonic range. Lyrical depth. Unapologetic energy.  Among the list of artists that
can truly do it all, it would be remiss to not include Tkay Maidza at the very
top. Zimbabwe-born and Australia-based, Tkay impressively sits at the
hard-earned intersection of rapper, singer, song-writer, and all-star performer.

THE UNSENT PROJECT: RADIO’S RUMINATIONS ON ROMANCE

By: Digital Press Department

Exactly a year ago, we were nosy. Nosy about the UCLA’s student body’s
situationship statuses, their one-sided crushes, their greatest desires and how
they defined “love.” That’s what it keeps circling on back to, isn’t it? We are
curious about love because we never stop trying to understand it. We spend our
lives sketching its different shapes, deciphering its puzzles, building its
infrastructure, and bathing in its warm sunlight, over and over again. It’s
exhausting and thrilling and transformative. We could never tire of it.

CAMP FLOG GNAW 2023: TYLER'S LOVE LETTER TO LA

By: Ria Bose & Mary Tio

It would be difficult to write an article about the critically acclaimed Camp
Flog Gnaw festival without understanding the mastermind behind the creative
madness. Formerly known as the Odd Future festival, this laid-back celebration
of music and arts began as scribbles in Tyler, the Creator’s notebook. 11 years
later, Camp Flog Gnaw has slowly evolved into one of the most celebrated
festivals focusing on alternative R&B and hip-hop.
