It stands on the edge of the lawns of Marston House, a Grade II listed building with a magnificent sweeping façade. St Leonard’s is the parish church for the civil parish of Trudoxhill which includes Marston Bigot, and is now part of the wider parish of Postlebury. Despite its somewhat isolated position, the church has an enthusiastic community of worshippers and friends. On the fourth Sunday of the month at 11 am, there are alternating Holy Communion and Matins (BCP) services as well as seasonal services at Easter, Harvest and Christmas. Learn More THE CHURCH OF ST MARY, WANSTROW The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Wanstrow is a Grade II* listed building which stands at the head of the ancient village street, Church Street, near the Manor House. The church hosts a variety of formal and informal worship services, weddings and funerals, throughout the year. Sunday services usually take place on the first Sunday of each month at 9.30 in the morning. During the summer, teas are available on alternate Saturday afternoons. All are welcome to come and enjoy the peaceful and reflective atmosphere. Should you wish to enter the church for private prayer, then the churchwarden will be happy to open the church for you. Learn More CLOFORD – CHURCH OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a beautiful Grade 2* listed building which dates back to the 11TH century and is at the heart of the tiny village of Cloford between Wanstrow and Nunney. Services are held at 11 am on the 4th Sunday of every month alternating between Matins (BCP) and Holy Communion. We also of course welcome weddings and baptisms from qualifying couples and conduct funerals regularly. The churchyard is still open for burials if there is a connection. Learn More WITHAM FRIARY The church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St John the Baptist and All Saints, Witham Friary, is now the only remaining Carthusian place of worship in the UK open to the public and is a place of pilgrimage with strong links to Lincoln Cathedral through St Hugh. Church services are held on the second Sunday of the month with a special celebration every November for the Feast of St Hugh. Baptisms, weddings and funerals take place and there are a number of ‘informal’ services on special dates throughout the year. With the support of the village, the organ in the church was fully restored in 2018. Learn More ALL SAINT’S CHURCH, NUNNEY All Saints Church, Nunney holds services at 9.30 am on the 3rd Sunday of every month (Holy Communion at 9.30 am) and every Friday morning at 10 am (Holy Communion – BCP). Additional services are held on special days to celebrate Easter, Christmas, Mothering Sunday, Harvest and on Remembrance Sunday for example. All Saints Church lies at the heart of the busy, picturesque village of Nunney, overlooking Nunney Castle. The church has been the focus of Christian worship for over 800 years. Its tranquil interior is brightly lit by four dormer windows in the barrel-vaulted ceiling – restored by the Friends of Nunney Church in 2017.
