Make Sure the N79 is Right for You…

Upgraded Version

Even though the N79 is a 1st generation robotic vacuum, that doesn't mean we
can't make it better. We’ve updated the navigation software, battery, protective
bumper, driving wheels, and side brush hardware for better cleaning and movement
performance.

ECOVACS App Controls

ECOVACS App requires 2.4G Hz Wi-Fi. Please note that certain app features like
virtual mapping are only available with specific ECOVACS products. Please check
product description or contact our customer support team for further
information. The N79 comes with (1) traditional remote controller.

Versus Traditional Vacuum Cleaner

Robot vacuum cleaners do not entirely replace the need for manual cleaning and
are not a complete substitute for traditional vacuum cleaners (yet). They
greatly reduce the frequency and effort needed for regular cleaning.

Product Maintenance

For optimal performance please regularly clean the N79. Please see the
instruction manual for detail instructions on how to properly clean your N79.
The N79 comes with complimentary cleaning tools.

Area Preparation

Prior to cleaning, please clear the intended cleaning area of objects that can
obstruct the N79’s movement including cords, wires, etc. Also note the N79 can
become stuck under furniture.

Floor Type

For optimal performance, the N79 is best used on hardwood and tiles floors, or
on light colored thin, low-pile carpets. Performance is poor when used on dark
colored or thick carpets. If your home contains a large number of rugs or thick
carpets, we do not recommend the N79.

Mopping

The N79 does not have mopping ability.

Air Filtration

The N79 air filtration system captures particles that are ejected into the air
while it cleans, reducing the amount of airborne particles present in your home.
The N79S is not a suitable substitute for a standard air filtration system.

We got this vacuum to help keep the floors a little bit cleaner around our
office. It has really been great. Our cleaner has a lot less work to do when she
comes in. She still has to vacuum to some degree as this guy doesn’t pick up
everything, but for the money this is 100% worth it. My only complaint is that
it has great difficulty connecting to the Deebot app.Not long after we got this
bot, someone broke into our office and stole the charging dock. Just the dock,
not the bot. Ecovacs was excellent and getting us a replacement dock free of
charge. Fantastic customer service!

The media could not be loaded.
 After researching and reading all the reviews (and verifying their
authenticity) I decided to buy this vacuum. I’ve owned 3 Roombas so I knew what
to expect. Unfortunately I didn’t get it with this robot vacuum. It was fairly
easy to setup and connect to WiFi. However upon turning it on and setting it to
auto, it was not to be. It would continuously vacuum the same 4 square feet over
and over and over again. I would try to direct it away from the area only for it
to go back?!? When I finally got it away from the over vacuumed area it would
start moving straight ahead only to be stopped by some invisibile wall?!? After
watching this happen for 2 hours I reset it to factory and decided to try again
the next day.

The next day I set it up again and damned if it doesn’t start vacuuming the same
area over and over and over. So I decide to call for support and reached a nice
enough fellow but his advice was to hold the power button until I heard 3 beeps
to reset it. But alas it was all for naught. I decided to record the last 3
minutes of it vacuuming the same area so you could see this in action for
yourselves. You’ve been warned.

I hate vacuuming, but with a shepherd-husky in the house it's a daily necessity.
It is life altering how much of a difference this little vacuum makes.
Shepherd-husky cross dogs shed ALL YEAR LONG - very fine white fur and it ends
up everywhere - but you can't tell by looking at my dark hardwood floors. Using
the app on my phone, I set up Deebot to run every day at 11am. It does a decent
job on the main floor of our house, mostly hardwood but with one carpeted room
and one large area rug.

Now, understand that if you watch it as it works, it does look like a 4-year old
is in charge as it just randomly goes about its business. You'll be thinking
that this crazy contraption can't possibly get the whole floor done...but it
will. Aside from some odd-angled corners, behind the bathroom door and under the
dining room chairs where the table legs sit, this little guy cleans the whole
floor comparable to my Dyson. I can do touch-ups with my stick vac instead of
pulling out the whole vacuum.

It's quieter than a regular vacuum, if I'm watching tv while it's running I'll
usually just turn up the volume by 2. If something goes wrong and it stops, it
will beep for about a minute. I find the app is a little slow to open and
connect, but it does tell you what the malfunction is so you can fix the problem
(usually the main wheel is clogged on mine).

When I get home from work in the evening, I usually find Deebot back on the
charger, although occasionally I will have to go find him and put him back. As
part of my evening routine every day, l empty the bin and clean the roller if
needed - the little tool that comes with it is amazing for cleaning off the hair
tangles that inevitably end up around the roller. It makes a big difference on
how well it cleans with the roller dirty, so take the 5 minutes every couple of
days to clean it. In the morning I do a quick double check that there's nothing
on the floor that will interrupt the vacuum. Mine has run over quite a few
cables - headphone cords, computer charging cables and dangling fairy lights -
and if it gets tangled it will stop and beep. Nothing has been damaged,
including the lights, I can simply pull it back out. We've seen it pull a phone
charging cable out of the wall and keep going, dragging it behind like a tail,
and it also caught a string of beads off the Christmas tree and was pulling them
off the tree. Aside from cleaning, my only other tip is to find a good place to
keep the charger where your vacuum won't get bumped - I find that if we knock
into it, it will power up and start vacuuming.

Great little vacuum. Super impressed with it's cleaning ability as well as being
able to track it via the app. It would get stuck sporadically and have to be
rescued but that's unavoidable. After only a couple months of use however the
unit started acting up. It would appear as if one of the motors on one of the
wheels is malfunctioning. It makes a horrible sound and sort of goes crazy
trying to get out of certain situations. It's a real shame b/c otherwise I would
have rated this unit 5 stars. With any luck Ecovacs will get back to me about a
repair/replacement and I can update this review.

UPDATE : I've gone ahead and added a star because of great and speedy customer
service. They sent me a new unit quickly and without issue. Great customer
service. Let's hope this one holds up better.

This unit is a piece of junk. The concept is beautiful.. it rolls around and
sweeps. Love the concept, but this piece of junk can’t navigate it’s way around
a nearly empty one bedroom apartment. It keeps returning to the same places
while leaving the rest of th place unswept. It misses things. It’ like a D
student.

So, I am constantly having to kick it around to make it work where needed. In
other words, I may as well get a broom and sweep myself for all the supervision
this piece of junk needs.

I am eager to buy another one from a better brand as this is a piece of junk
that does not fulfill it’s promise. I would return it if I could. Stay away from
this brand.. but a better one.

This is my second robot vaccum. The first was a nightmare, was different brand.
This one is robust, doesn’t get stuck everywhere,
Does not Commit Suicide in the stairs and isn’t banging in all the
walls/objects. It charges quickly and is quiet. Battery life is decent. Works
good for Dog hair. Recommend it.
