This is ongoing. LATEST NEWS More news FULL BUSINESS CASE FOR A4174 IMPROVEMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE WEST OF ENGLAND COMBINED AUTHORITY The project team and designers have now reviewed the feedback provided through the consultation and considered opportunities to improve the scheme. Local people showed strong support for the proposed improvements to walking, wheeling, cycling and bus infrastructure on the A4174. However, questions were asked about some elements of the scheme - a Design Response document which you can find on this page of this site seeks to answer these questions. Next steps for this project are for a Full Business Case to be submitted to the West of England Combined Authority who are funding these improvements in the summer 2024. They will review the evidence presented and make a final decision about whether the scheme should proceed. Posted on 10th May 2024 by South Gloucestershire Council CONSULTATION REPORT PUBLISHED The project team is grateful to the hundreds of local people who shared their views via this consultation. With so many responses, this feedback provides a comprehensive summary of local people’s views. The consultation report summarises the findings of the survey and the map plots comments which relate to specific locations where people have highlighted potential improvements or concerns. You can find links to both on this page. The consultation report has been shared with the project team, project sponsors and other decision-makers for consideration. The next step is for the project team and designers to review specific feedback and original designs to evaluate potential opportunities to make improvements and enhancements and address concerns. A separate design response document will summarise the findings of this exercise, which will be published on this site. Posted on 26th February 2024 by Andrew Pickford THANK YOU AND NEXT STEPS 👍 Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to complete our recent surveys on investment in active and sustainable travel. We have had comments back from more than 1,500 South Gloucestershire residents across our two schemes, which look to make walking, wheeling, cycling and bus travel easier and safer for all. The two schemes included: • the A38 (between Thornbury and junction 16 of the M5), including the B4061 Thornbury Road / Alveston Hill, and Bradley Stoke Way • the A4174 Avon Ring Road (between the Coldharbour Lane junction and the Wick Wick roundabout). 🗣️ We would also like to thank all those who attended one of our drop-in sessions either in-person or online. Our events were well attended with more than 400 people coming along to view proposals and speak to the project teams. These events provided a great opportunity to answer questions and listen to concerns. All the feedback we have received during the last six weeks will now be collated and analysed, and we will share the results in the coming months.
