were slightly puffy, like he had just woken up.
It had been just over two weeks since I'd seen him last, on the same day I'd
graduated, when we'd fought and kissed and eventually said goodbye on the banks
of the Charles River. On that day he'd worn a suit, the kind that made him look
like his billions. Tonight, in the same basic uniform of half the men in Boston,
he looked even better.
"H-hi," I said weakly, barely able to wonder what he was doing here or how he
knew to come. My head throbbed. My stomach roiled again, but there was nothing
in it to come up.
Brandon tipped his head to the side and sighed. He rubbed a hand over the bill
of his cap, causing his shirt to ride up and reveal the hard lines of his
abdomen. I drooled.
"Get in, Red," he said gruffly.

Absolutely loved this first book of the spitfire series. What a ride. Brandon
and skylar are so perfect together but what angst. I loved the sassy Jane,
skylar's best friend. I luv the vulnerable part of Brandon. I laughed and cried
so many times. This story is definitely going places and I can't wait to read
the next one in the series. Thank you so much Nicole for such a fantastic read.

Oh man! Brandon Sterling and Skylar Crosby have got e VERY complicated
relationship. He goes from just wanting sex to wanting it all! She learns about
his past, and he learns more about hers than she had wanted him to learn. He
really does sweep in like a knight in shining armor. There were most definitely
some twists in the story. Some drama that I did not see coming. And of coarse
there was a part that made me cry.... actually it was more like a couple parts
that made me cry. The ending was a huge cliffhanger that I should have seen
coming, but there was so much going on that it totally blind sided me! So now I
am eager to get into the second book so I can see how this most recent drama
plays out!!!

I will start off with this; there are three books in the series so there are
cliffhangers and/or continuations of the story.
Skylar and her immaturity had me wanting to climb into this book and slap her –
HARD! For a women graduating from Harvard, she is pretty clueless. Brandon needs
to wake and let her go for good; it really would be in his best interest. I
tried to like Skylar and all most DNF this book because of her; however I kept
turning the pages to see how this story ended.
Brandon, for a billionaire tycoon, he can’t seem to grab a hold of his personal
life to save himself. He tries to show Skylar his love for her, but she just
isn’t seeing it. They fight, they make-up, rinse and repeat.
Overall I liked the story line, but felt that was being drawn out (not sure why)
and some of the description(s) of people/places/things might be pages long (a
bit much).
Sorry, but I have to dock the author a star for editing errors. Seriously, this
book needs a good going over.

When I downloaded this book, I thought it was Book 1 in a series with different
characters, only to find out after struggling to finish that there are two more
books to follow featuring more of the dismal adventures of Brandon and Skylar.
Even with appalling behaviour at the beginning of the book, in the end he had my
sympathy. Skylar, with all of her accomplishments at age 26, is immature and
needs some anger management classes. Two more books like this? No, thank you.

When I first saw this book I wanted to read it and thought it would be good.
This was so much better than good. I loved it! I was in total shock that this
was Nicole's debut novel. It is so well written and developed that it couldn't
possibly be true. Don't get me wrong there are some great debut novels out there
but usually you can see where there is room for growth on the author's part. You
won't find that here. The writing was phenomenal, story plot well thought out
and characters nicely developed.
Nicole does a wonderful job giving us the back story needed to understand
Brandon and Skylar better and see how they came to be the people they are.
Granted Skylar is a little young compared to Brandon, she hasn't had it easy
with her family and past experiences that prevents her from really opening up
and trusting, but she has persevered. She is strong, sassy, independent and
takes no crap from others. This will make her a great lawyer. Brandon has it
all, or does he, with his high powered job, strong, sexy and funny personality.
But he is broken from a rough childhood. Skylar thinks he needs to be fixed but
maybe he just needs her.
This is a slow burn romance with enough chemistry that will have you on the edge
of your seat. The relationship between Brandon and Skylar is real and relatable
while still having a fresh new twist on a Billionaire office romance. You don't
want to miss this amazing new author. Get ready for a book hangover that you
won't easily get over.

Thank you for not making this a 50 shades of grey. You went about this in a
realistic fashion and I loved when the heroine calls out the "hero" (so to
speak) when necessary. I feel like that was lacking 50 shades. The heroine there
just accepted being catered to with very little and ineffective protest and if
we are being honest stalked (I'm a fan of the book but really, let's analyze
it). In real life, that stuff wouldn't be accepted as normal. Thank you for
making the heroine into a sassy and independent professional and for calling out
the hero on things like sexual harrassment in the workplace even if they do end
up together. We need heroines like her in today's culture to remind female
readers to stand up for themselves and their beliefs that at the time are
important or they think are important to them. I also appreciated the legal
research you did for some of the legal jargon, school, and snippets into the law
firm environment. It gave this book more than steamy sessions because you know
that as a reader we expect more now a days than just another 50 book. Thank you!

There were no trigger warnings about abortion. I recently had a stillbirth and I
started reading this after he was stillborn. And reading that she had an
abortion sent me in to a panic attack. There was no mention anywhere that these
books contained abortion. It needs to be labeled!!! Very disappointed. Also when
put on her page that it needed a trigger warning for it!! She deleted my comment
then blocked! She is a piss poor author who can't take any criticism and won't
try to attempt to put a trigger warning for the next person. If you experienced
child loss or stillbirth or miscarriage DO NOT READ THIS SERIES!!! She doesn't
care if she hurts you!!!

and ordering the the other two books in this three part series. Of course this
book ends in a cliffhanger, which will make you want to buy the next book in the
series. It was so good for me I had to buy the other two so I could flow from
one book to the other in the three part series.

character Skylar really annoying. A bit fifty shades she's with him one minute
then running away the next. I liked Brandon though and found his character
really believable and finished the book to find out what happens only to find
its a cliff hanger and you have to purchase 2 more over priced books to find out
if she can stop running.

I read a free copy of this book and it started off well, but Skylar is a whiny
little madam, ungrateful and highly principled, unable to accept a gift. I get
her reasons, but even so, she was irritating and rude.
I also have a massive hatred for authors who let their female characters slap a
guy (three times). That's violence. There is no way that would be tolerated from
a man to a woman, so why is a female author writing this into her story? It's
unforgivable and smacks of double standards. And Skylar has lots of them
herself. I didn't really enjoy all the to-ing and fro-ing of her love/hate
relationship with Brandon, who was a saint, putting up with her drama. I'm not
interested in reading books 2 or 3 for more of the insanity.

Well, I loved this book! I hated putting it down and tried to cram in snippets
every free second I had. It made me late for work! This is quite a short review
because I was so wrapped up in the story I didn’t stop to make notes.
This book felt so genuine. The characters are not perfect, but this story was
about loving people despite, if not because of, those imperfections. Brandon
Sterling is officially one of my favourite heroes even though he was a bit of a
d**k at times. Oh, I practically melted when he laid his heart on the line, and
he did it frequently.
I loved Skylar, too. She had such a deep sense of integrity and a strong work
ethic. She was not intimidated by Brandon’s money or power, and actively hated
and threw back his ridiculously expensive gifts. She made him work really work
for it, and the story that unfolds is full of those feels that make a great
romance.
It ends on a cliffhanger and I’m diving right in. I’m writing this while waiting
for book two to download. Hurry up, download! Download now!

A relationship built on attraction may not have the firmest of foundations, and
as things develop between Skylar and Brandon, their pasts and the difficulties
within their own backgrounds start to pull them apart.
This book was a really engaging and consuming story. I really got involved in
the dynamics of this couples relationship, and its steady, but sad, spiral into
difficulties.
Told from the pov of Skylar, and with the legal profession as a backdrop, this
is book 1 of a trilogy and was left on an unexpected cliffhanger.
I've read other books by this author, and always find her plots engrossing, the
characters complex and arresting with believable chemistry, and I really enjoy
her writing style. This book was fantastic, I loved it, and I suspect the
Spitfire series is going to be a journey of love that will be completely
gripping and ultimately emotionally rewarding.
Highly recommended for readers who enjoy more emotionally complex contemporary
romantic narratives.

A really great storyline, was upset that it ended on a cliff hanger, so can't
wait for the next book due out in late Spring is available, just to see what
happens. I have only given this novel 4 stars because of all the errors...
Normally I note them down and if they are 6 or under, don't really worry about
that, but I could have filled up an A4 sheet. They are right through the book
and continuity lacks in Location 1667. Brandons name get spelt differently
several times - Brando and Brandro. Words missing which makes sentences
did-jointed, and words out of place which do the same.... This was such a shame,
as the story was brilliant, involved, tense and loving.. All the ingredients for
a wicked story. If you can over look all the errors, then you'll enjoy this
read.
