Anker is well known for its quality So no surprise here to discover this QI
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition charger is more like a well made appliance
than a cheap, plastic novelty. 1. It's base and angled book holder are sturdy
and heavy, and for lack of a better words, they are fused or welded together
into essentially one piece. Its well-balanced so it is unlikely anyone could
manage to knock this stand over; 2. Because it is solidly built, it doesn't fold
down. There is a competitor product which I don't think is officially endorsed
by Amazon, but it is for sale on Amazon and its made by Viok. The Viok purports
to be portable because it's angled book holder attaches to the base with a
plastic hinge, allowing the Viok to fold down until it lays upon the base. And
by the way, its base is heavy too. But I've had Kindles for years and all I have
ever needed to charge it on-the-job was a mini USB cord - light as a feather.
And I have never felt the need for a bookstand. Kindles are lightweight. Anyone
I've ever seen reading a Kindle seems to feel comfortable holding it like a
paperback novel. In short, The Anker (and the Viok) are meant to be vertical, QI
chargers, and once charged, the Kindle battery lasts for weeks. But worse comes
to worse, my little mini USB cable is handy. Kindles were made for for
portability long before QI chargers came along. That Kindles are so light and
thin is probably why you bought one in the first place. But, if for no
particular reason, you want prop it up with a heavy Viok Kindle stand, knock
yourself out. The Viok does not suddenly become lighter when folded down and
shoved in your bag. Of course, if you prefer the Viok that's perfectly fine.
Like the Anker, you can place your Kindle on the Viok as easily as the Anker.
Just ask yourself, "Why would I need a heavy folding charger if all I'm going to
do is leave it plugged in on the night-stand?" 3. The Anker's solid build means
it's angle cannot be adjusted. So what? A QI vertical charger is good for one
thing. It gives you more real estate on your countertop or night-stand. Not
surprisingly, Any device that can charge in a vertical position will provide
more real estate on your tabletop, and it will provide for better organization.
The Anker does this well. The Viok saves space too -- unless you want to carry
it around with you. Then, the Viok takes up space in your bag and is
substantially heavier than your Kindle. My suggestion? If you are on-the-job,
toss a mini USB cable into your bag; 4. Anker has no moving parts to break.
There are only two QI stands marketed for this specific Kindle. Its between
Anker and Viok. So - the Viok has hinges made of breakable plastic, which
enables it to fold down, or perhaps collapse if something runs into it. Further,
to remain upright, the Viok book holder relies upon a thin piece of rectangular
plastic, also hinged, and little notches on the base so you can move it from the
first position - which is a fine and perfectly comfortable way to read it, to
two other positions that place it at a lower and lower angle, until it reaches
the last position where it lays completely flat. Apparently, at that point, it
is portable. Just don't forget it's charging cable and an adapter for the wall
so you can lug it around with you. Honestly, many folks like the Viok, but the
logic escapes me; 5. The Anker does not have moving parts. The Viok does, and
more moving parts means a greater likelihood to break. Therefore, my money is on
Anker to far oulast the Viok by a mile; 6. Now this is the one minor, and for
many people negatve aspect to the Anker stand: Viok gets its power via a mini
USB "C" cable. Of course, the mini cable plugs into to back of the Biok's base.
The other end plugs into a USB port, for which most folks require a separate A/C
plug adapter to stick into the wall socket. It's purpose is to down-convert the
A/C current so our electronic devices don't burn up. The Anker also requires an
A/C adapter. However, thr Anker doesn’t rely on a mini usb connector like the
Viok. Instead, it relys upon a good old reliable Plug-in wall adapter with from
which extends a thick wire, which plugs into the back of the Anker base with a
pin connector. I uploaded a photo of the type of plug so you can see what it
would look like. So, what's the difference? I know many folks are only
accustomed only to the thinner mini USB cables. I am fairly sure that most folks
are familiar with the frequency of replacing those mini cables. Anker's thicker
wire is reliable technology. Yes, it predates mini-cables. But from a design
point of view that benefits consumers, I have never seen an A/C adapter wire
break, requiring replacement. Of course, these observations are just my opinion.
Please feel free to disagree. I don't know whether Anker will eventually change
to the mini USB "C" power cable. If it does, great. If it doesn't, it is still a
superior appliance with no moving plastic parts and nothing to break. And, who
knew? discovered I even can charge my iPhone on it. One of my Android phones,
too, though there is no guarantee it will work for anything except the Kindle
Paperwhite Signature Edition. This is due to the placement of the charging
stand's internal QI coil. And no, a QI coil will not harm a device if the QI
output is weaker or stronger. that'sbecause they happen to align with Anker's Qi
coil. Anyhow, that's all I have to say, and I hope it helps you.

This fits my Kindle "Signature" edition especially well. Now my Kindle is always
charging and ready for my use. This is a used charging dock, from Amazon, and it
looks almost new. I believe it will make my reading and listening to my Audible
books now even easier and more convenient. This charging dock is made by Anker.
Anker of course is an excellent company and I feel this will be working for
years without any issues. It is easy so easing to use, I simply place my Kindle
"Signature" into it the slot provided, and that is it. A charging light tells me
I have it placed correctly. It couldn't be any easier. Since I have well over
5,000 Kindle and Audible books in total, I am always behind in enjoying my books
and this will help me catch up on my reading or listening by making my Kindle
Signature always ready to be picked up and start reading or listening to my many
books. It is a win-win for someone like myself who enjoys reading all the time.
What a great buy for me. As a side note, if you have both Kindle books and
Audible books like myself, the Kindle "Signature" is just super. It's the best
Kindle I have purchased yet, and I have purchased at least 5 or 6 since they
came out. Thank you, Amazon.

Anker is well known for its quality So no surprise here to discover this QI
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition charger is more like a well made appliance
than a cheap, plastic novelty. 1. It's base and angled book holder are sturdy
and heavy, and for lack of a better words, they are fused or welded together
into essentially one piece. Its well-balanced so it is unlikely anyone could
manage to knock this stand over; 2. Because it is solidly built, it doesn't fold
down. There is a competitor product which I don't think is officially endorsed
by Amazon, but it is for sale on Amazon and its made by Viok. The Viok purports
to be portable because it's angled book holder attaches to the base with a
plastic hinge, allowing the Viok to fold down until it lays upon the base. And
by the way, its base is heavy too. But I've had Kindles for years and all I have
ever needed to charge it on-the-job was a mini USB cord - light as a feather.
And I have never felt the need for a bookstand. Kindles are lightweight. Anyone
I've ever seen reading a Kindle seems to feel comfortable holding it like a
paperback novel. In short, The Anker (and the Viok) are meant to be vertical, QI
chargers, and once charged, the Kindle battery lasts for weeks. But worse comes
to worse, my little mini USB cable is handy. Kindles were made for for
portability long before QI chargers came along. That Kindles are so light and
thin is probably why you bought one in the first place. But, if for no
particular reason, you want prop it up with a heavy Viok Kindle stand, knock
yourself out. The Viok does not suddenly become lighter when folded down and
shoved in your bag. Of course, if you prefer the Viok that's perfectly fine.
Like the Anker, you can place your Kindle on the Viok as easily as the Anker.
Just ask yourself, "Why would I need a heavy folding charger if all I'm going to
do is leave it plugged in on the night-stand?" 3. The Anker's solid build means
it's angle cannot be adjusted. So what? A QI vertical charger is good for one
thing. It gives you more real estate on your countertop or night-stand. Not
surprisingly, Any device that can charge in a vertical position will provide
more real estate on your tabletop, and it will provide for better organization.
The Anker does this well. The Viok saves space too -- unless you want to carry
it around with you. Then, the Viok takes up space in your bag and is
substantially heavier than your Kindle. My suggestion? If you are on-the-job,
toss a mini USB cable into your bag; 4. Anker has no moving parts to break.
There are only two QI stands marketed for this specific Kindle. Its between
Anker and Viok. So - the Viok has hinges made of breakable plastic, which
enables it to fold down, or perhaps collapse if something runs into it. Further,
to remain upright, the Viok book holder relies upon a thin piece of rectangular
plastic, also hinged, and little notches on the base so you can move it from the
first position - which is a fine and perfectly comfortable way to read it, to
two other positions that place it at a lower and lower angle, until it reaches
the last position where it lays completely flat. Apparently, at that point, it
is portable. Just don't forget it's charging cable and an adapter for the wall
so you can lug it around with you. Honestly, many folks like the Viok, but the
logic escapes me; 5. The Anker does not have moving parts. The Viok does, and
more moving parts means a greater likelihood to break. Therefore, my money is on
Anker to far oulast the Viok by a mile; 6. Now this is the one minor, and for
many people negatve aspect to the Anker stand: Viok gets its power via a mini
USB "C" cable. Of course, the mini cable plugs into to back of the Biok's base.
The other end plugs into a USB port, for which most folks require a separate A/C
plug adapter to stick into the wall socket. It's purpose is to down-convert the
A/C current so our electronic devices don't burn up. The Anker also requires an
A/C adapter. However, thr Anker doesn’t rely on a mini usb connector like the
Viok. Instead, it relys upon a good old reliable Plug-in wall adapter with from
which extends a thick wire, which plugs into the back of the Anker base with a
pin connector. I uploaded a photo of the type of plug so you can see what it
would look like. So, what's the difference? I know many folks are only
accustomed only to the thinner mini USB cables. I am fairly sure that most folks
are familiar with the frequency of replacing those mini cables. Anker's thicker
wire is reliable technology. Yes, it predates mini-cables. But from a design
point of view that benefits consumers, I have never seen an A/C adapter wire
break, requiring replacement. Of course, these observations are just my opinion.
Please feel free to disagree. I don't know whether Anker will eventually change
to the mini USB "C" power cable. If it does, great. If it doesn't, it is still a
superior appliance with no moving plastic parts and nothing to break. And, who
knew? discovered I even can charge my iPhone on it. One of my Android phones,
too, though there is no guarantee it will work for anything except the Kindle
Paperwhite Signature Edition. This is due to the placement of the charging
stand's internal QI coil. And no, a QI coil will not harm a device if the QI
output is weaker or stronger. that'sbecause they happen to align with Anker's Qi
coil. Anyhow, that's all I have to say, and I hope it helps you.

I bought this for my new Kindle and was excited that i didn't have to have a
cord on my nightstand to recharge. I put a pop socket on my last Kindle for
easier holding and wouldn't read a Kindle without one again. The problem is that
this unit has to have a full, flat connection to the charger. I should have read
more carefully; I thought it was a C plug at the bottom that the Kindle sat on.
So, with a pop socket or cover, this charger will not work. Great idea and
probably will work for 99% of users, just not for my use. Returned.

I actually got this in the Amazon Warehouse on the Amazon site for half of the
regular price, yet it looks brand new. I probably won't get many chances to have
to charge my Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, because it holds a great
charge for a long time. That's why I'm glad that I can also charge my Samsung
cellphone on this charger. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would buy it. I have no
problem just plugging in a USB-C cord to charge my Kindle, but if I can
multitask this wireless charger for my phone I think it's worth it. Also,
getting it for half price was a bargain!

for Christmas. I also bought one for my reader. It is perfect. I never have to
worry about when I need to charge my reader. It is always ready to go. My
daughter says she loves hers as well. If you have the correct reader for this
charger I highly recommend it. It charges well with a case on. I have other
Anker products so I was pretty sure I’d be getting a reliable product. I did.

viola, I was charging and reading later on in no time. What can you say about
this charger? It charges the Kindle nicely. Doesn't want to charge my iPhone

The price is definitely on the brighter side, almost a no-brainer, compared to
wireless charging stands from Apple, Google, and Samsung. It's worth it on sheer
convenience alone. A place to stand your Kindle while it charges. If it's on
your desk, you can use it as a book holder as you read. Would be nice if it had
charging cut off to protect the battery but that level of electronic smarts is
beyond the Kindle, unfortunately. Mine is in a (blue) magnetic cover case and
charges wirelessly without problem. Another bonus, it makes you less likely to
be looking around for your Kindle. It has a home!
