JUST TRANSITIONED INTO MED DEVICE SALES IN TRAUMA. THERE IS ALMOST NO WORK LIFE
BALANCE. I LOVE THE JOB, BUT WANT SOMETHING MORE PREDICTABLE / BE ABLE TO KNOW
MY SCHEDULE SOONER THAN THE NIGHT BEFORE / DAY OF. I AM NOT ABLE TO PLAN
ANYTHING. ARE THERE ANY DIVISIONS THAT AREN’T EVERY WEEKEND AND ALLOW SOME LIFE
OUTSIDE OF WORK?

AESTHETICS TEND TO BE MORE 9-5. OR YOU MAY DROP IN ON A WEEKEND WHEN A
DOC/BUSINESS OWNER IS WORKING. BUT BECAUSE IT’S AESTHETICS, YOU HAVE TO BE VERY
POLISHED. MY FRIEND IS IN IT AND WAS TRYING TO GET OUT OF IT. MORE INTO MEDICAL
DEVICE SALES YOU’RE IN. MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF ASS KISSING AND EMPHASIS
ON IMAGE/STATUS.

IF YOU'RE GOOD AT SALES, THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER. EVERY INDUSTRY NEEDS YOUR
SKILL SET, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. YOU COULD EVEN PIVOT TO PR. HOWEVER, IT'S NOT SO
MUCH AN INDUSTRY AS COMPANIES WHO SET THE WORK SCHEDULE. AND BASED ON WHAT I'VE
WITNESSED, PEOPLE WHO EXCEL AT SALES CAN GET JUST ABOUT ANYTHING THEY DEMAND
BECAUSE THEY ARE THE MONEY-MAKERS. KEEP TRACK OF HOW MUCH REVENUE YOU BRING IN
AND USE THOSE SALES SKILLS TO REMIND THEM OF IT WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING (A
RAISE, TIME OFF, BETTER HOURS). YOU JUST NEED TO "SELL" WHAT YOU WANT TO YOUR
EMPLOYER. TACTFULLY EXPLAIN HOW IT'S BETTER FOR THEM IF THEY DON'T WORK YOU TO
THE POINT OF BURNOUT. THAT SAID, SOME COMPANIES DO HAVE A DOWNRIGHT TOXIC LEVEL
OF WORK/LIFE BALANCE AND IN THAT CASE, FIND YOURSELF A NEW COMPANY. ALSO, BE
PREPARED TO BE SECURITY-MARCHED OUT THE SECOND YOU RESIGN ANYWHERE, BECAUSE
THAT'S COMMON IN SALES; THEY DON'T WANT YOU TAKING INFO ON YOUR CONTACTS WITH
YOU.

Hi Fishes,
Need advice.
I am currently working at a prod based company as a QA Engineer in a maintenance
project. I joined 7 months back. They offerred me an SDET+DevOps role. And all
this while I was mostly working on manual. There is no scope and value to
automation in this project.

I have an offer from a service based company with 25% hike from my current ctc.
They have offered a API automation project.

Is it wise to leave now or should I wait for an year?

I really want to work TAS FDD. I have 2 years of audit experience now and my
cpa. I have one year of government and public sector and one year in commercial
audit. As cheesy as this sounds that’s all I’ve wanted to do since discovering
it a few months into my career in audit.

I just got rejected from EY without so much as an interview and I’m feeling
really defeated. I always thought that 2 years would be enough experience. The
idea of going through another year of audit sounds dreadful cont..

Hi everyone, I am looking for ideas on how to pivot out of the usual month end
close cycle. A remote job ideally. If you were previously in a similar
accounting role and switched, I would love to hear about it as well.

My Accounting background is:

3 years GT Audit - manage small team, manage engagements,

2 years Industry Accounting - manage small team, improve monthly processes,
month end close, reconciliations, generate financial reports, generate budget
and forecasts

The treason has become so predictable now. Caputo who was installed by Trump at

I want to know if anyone else feels like I do: I’ve been on 3 projects (1.5
years) and don’t feel “liked” or valued. I try to authentically connect with
others and do my best work on every project team, but nothing seems to work.
Even more frustrating are consistently subpar performance reviews, which make me
doubt myself and my intelligence/worth. I feel absolutely useless here and can’t
operate from a deficit. It’s like I’m like a fish trying to be a bird. Please
help, what should I do?

Any vacancies in CFR for the role of an analyst? A modeling role or a strategy
role would do. I had referred some candidates but the position was filled till
then. Is there any way I could get a notification as soon as a new relevant job
is posted? This is for opportunities in Gurgaon/Bglr
American Express

I have been with the same company for 20+ years. More or less the same role
though I’ve had a few changes of location and many bosses over that time. I
guess my question is, what can I do from here? I’m a loyal and dedicated
employee but definitely underutilized. Also, I need to earn more. I’ve got 12
years left before retirement, hopefully, and I’d like to be in a more productive
role where the ageism won’t be as much of an issue as I’m worried it will be.

Convinced that I have excessive daytime sleepiness — anyone here dealt with the
same as a medical condition? How did you solve? To be clear, caffeine and even
amphetamines do NOT help me. The drowsiness hits at around 2 pm every single day
no matter how much sleep I get and is absolutely debilitating. My ability to
concentrate disappears, and god help me if I’m scheduled for a meeting at that
time in a warm conference room. Performance is definitely being negatively
impacted. Please help? 😴😴😴

How would you reply to recruiters who ask you what other positions are you
interested in when you are interviewing with them? Do you only state you're
interested in the position you applied for, do you show interest in exploring
other opportunities, do you let the recruiter know whatever role they believe
you would fit best? Don't want to burn any bridges but also don't want to close
the door on better opportunities!! Thank you in advance!
