MY OUTLOOK CATEGORIES ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN CALENDAR
I have colour categories for sorting items in Outlook and one set of
personalised category descriptions and colour was good for address book entries,
calendar entries, etc.
However, I now go into Calendar and I cannot select one of my own personalised
categories for entries and I can only select one of the default set of colours
without my descriptions.

Hi Jimbo_PNE,
Based on your description, you're having challenges with selecting your
personalized color category in Outlook calendar. Let's work on this together and
we'll do our best to get this addressed.
This could be an issue a defective add-in installed on your app. However, just
to confirm, are you receiving an error when selecting your personalized
category? In the meantime, let's try launching your Outlook app in safe mode so
we can identify if an add-in or extension is causing this problem.
1. On your Windows computer, select Start.
2. Type outlook /safe, and click OK.
3. If the problem is not occurring while on safe mode, select Options on the
File menu, and then select Add-Ins.
4. Select COM Add-ins, and then select Go.
5. Clear all the check boxes in the list, and then select OK.
6. Restart Outlook.
If the problem does not occur after you restart Outlook, one of the add-ins is
likely the cause of the problem. Restore the add-ins one at a time until the
problem does occur to determine which add-in is causing the problem.
However, if the issue persists even in safe mode, we may proceed with repairing
your Office by following the steps provided in article: Repair an Office
application. Repair usually fixes underlying issues within your Office programs.

I struggled to get this to work, but searching for help AWAY from MS website
revealed that instruction 2 above is wrong. Should be "Type outlook.exe /safe",
and click OK.
