Why I am running
 
Hello:   My name is Robert Hanye and I am running for Blount County Commission
District 3 Seat B.
I retired as the Chief Executive of a non-profit manufacturing and service
company where I built a team that took it from a struggling organization to a
leader in its field.
I’ve worked as a teacher in a psychiatric rehabilitation facility and a
counselor in an addiction clinic.  I also worked as an executive in a national
non-profit that helps local agencies create employment opportunities for people
who are blind.
My experience has taught me that we can learn from just about everyone if we
take the time to listen.
My wife Sue and I chose Blount County after retirement.  We love its natural
beauty.  It’s a lot like her childhood home in the coal mining mountains of
southwest Pennsylvania. Our daughter and her family are here in the county.
I am deeply committed to community and public service. I’ve coached youth sports
teams, served as an elected member of a school board and been on a number of
non-profit boards both locally and nationally. 
I believe my leadership and management experience as well as my commitment to
public service will bring value to the County Commission and the people of
Blount County.
It’s about good public policy and problem solving-not partisan politics.
I am asking for your vote and your support in the May primary and the August
general election.
