CALKINS: NOW RUNNING FOR MAYOR OF MEMPHIS. THE ROCK?

NOW THAT THE SILLY RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT IS DEAD, THE POSSIBLE CANDIDATES FOR
CITY MAYOR ARE ENDLESS.

By Geoff Calkins, Daily Memphian Updated: May 22, 2023 11:24 AM CT | Published:

Now that Memphis doesn’t have a residency requirement for who can run to be
mayor, Geoff Calkins discusses possible candidates, including (clockwise from
top left) Paul Young, Zach Randolph, Jimmy Smits, Justin Timberlake, the Dalai
Lama, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Van Turner, Sandra Bullock, Leslie Jones,
former President Barack Obama, Robert Pera, Adam Silver, Michelle McKissack,
Paul Finebaum, Floyd Bonner Jr. and Josh Pastner, to name a few. (Clockwise from
