(AND SOME EXTRA TRICKS) 25 October, 2019 No Comments For holidays, one of the main parts is the transfer, especially if you are traveling by plane. But many times going through airports can be a heavy task. That’s why we give you some tips and ideas so that when you come to Cabo you have a pleasant experience during your visit to the airport and your flight. 1 STAY HYDRATED Bring an empty water bottle (so they can get through the gates with no problems) in your purse or carry-on luggage. Most airports have water fountains or you can ask for water on the plane. Dehydration is one of the reasons people feel terrible during and after long haul flights. When you’re flying, the humidity is just 10 to 20% inside the plane. 2 BRING PLENTY OF SNACKS Food and snacks at airports and on planes are really overpriced, so bring your own and enjoy them during your travel. But airports and airplanes are full of germs, so pack a travel-sized hand sanitizer wherever you go. 3 DRESS APPROPRIATELY Choose a comfortable outfit and dress in layers to stay comfortable while at the airport and on your flight. Airports and airplanes can either be extremely cold or extremely hot and usually, there’s no happy in-between so wearing layers will help. And always wear socks! Remember that some airports make you take your shoes off when going through security, and these will help for keeping your feet warm on your flight. If you wear glasses, don’t use contacts: flying makes your skin and eyes extremely dry, so wearing contacts may be uncomfortable. 4 BE PREPARED TO BE QUICK Pack your passport and boarding pass in the same place where you can take them out easily. Going through security and passport control requires us to constantly take out our passport and boarding pass, showing it to the airport staff, then repacking it into our bags. Also, you will have to take your laptop or any other large electronics out of your bag when going through security. To avoid having to dig through your bag while waiting in line, make sure to pack your laptop or any other electronics in a side pocket of your luggage with easy access. 5 BE SURE THAT YOU WILL ENJOY THE FLIGHT Bring a travel pillow and earplugs, so you can be comfortable at all times on the plane and airport. Earplugs will let you sleep through anything like cabin announcements, noisy passengers, crying babies, etc. They’re also much more comfortable than trying to sleep with earbuds or headphones on. Having a great travel pillow can help you be more comfortable and get some rest. 6 KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR LUGGAGE A very useful tip is to put a colorful ribbon on your luggage or something that can make it different from others, so you can find it in the sea of similar luggage on the conveyor belt. Also, take a photo of your bags before the flight. On the off chance that your checked luggage gets lost, having a photo of it in addition to your luggage receipt can make it much easier to locate. 7 STAY CONNECTED Bring a portable charger for your electronic devices, not all airports have convenient outlets or charging stations while you’re waiting at the gate. Don’t forget to pack all your wires. 8 DON’T MAKE LINES Check-in for your flight in advance. Be sure to check-in for your flight online 24 hours in advance so you don’t have to wait in line once you get to the airport. This can also be a great way to grab a good seat assignment if you weren’t able to select your seat when you booked your ticket. EXTRA TIPS! Research for hotels or sleep spots in case your flight is delayed or wheater conditions makes you stay longer than planned. Also, always ask for an upgrade, the worst thing that can happen is that the airline staff simply say “no”. You never know, you might just get lucky and be sitting business class! But the most important thing, so you can really enjoy your trip, is to plan ahead your transportation for when you land. Don’t get into any complications and let us make your trip an Easy Trip! Santa Rosalía boasts French influence, particularly in its architecture. The French company El Boleo founded the town in 1884 and exploited copper mines there until they closed in 1954. They built houses and installed the metallic Iglesia de Santa Bárbara, which is argued to have been designed by Gustave Eiffel. Unlike many other mining sites, the industrial facilities which are located in the very middle of the town were never dismantled. Of particular interest are the reverberatory furnace and the metallurgical converter, although they are currently not accessible by the public due to safety concerns. Old locomotives, mining equipment, and machinery are visible everywhere. The main mining company offices (La dirección) have been converted into an industrial museum. Santa Rosalia is recognized for its authentic beauty and its airs of a French city between the Mexican desert and the sea. Its Gallo-style architecture makes it a unique place in our country. At present, the industrial facilities of the old mine remain a witness to its flowering. Santa Rosalía is a town of Baja California Sur located in the municipality of Mulegé on the shores of the Sea of Cortez. This town considered a small city is the main head of this municipality that stands out for spectacular desert landscapes facing the sea. It was founded by Europeans, who began exploring the region in the early 1700s as part of the evangelization process. Almost a century later, after discovering the abundance of valuable minerals in the region, the Compagnie du Boleo mining company from France was founded in this port, which obtained the concession thanks to President Porfirio Díaz. The French company began to create a mining empire in this town, for which it ordered the construction of houses, churches, and schools for the families of thousands of workers. For more than 50 years, until the early twentieth century, Santa Rosalia was the only city on the peninsula of Baja California with electric power, and the second in the country, after Mexico City. Thanks to the exploitation of copper deposits, this town experienced a time of great technological abundance at the time, which came from Europe to keep the mining facilities in optimal conditions. However, after depleting the natural resource of the region, the company closed its doors leaving a town already consolidated as one of the strongest economies in the Northwest. Currently, all the houses and buildings of the city center keep intact the French colonial style of that time, as an act of preserving the tradition that formed this town. In addition to being a tourist attraction, since there is no other place in Mexico that maintains this architectural style. The Government Palace, the Church of Santa Barbara, the French Hotel and the Barrio Francia, is the oldest and most representative buildings of that time, for which they were based on designs by the same engineer Gustave Eiffel, creator of the Eiffel Tower, a world icon. In addition to the French atmosphere that maintains the town, Santa Rosalia is also famous for its old bakeries, French legacy, which make a rich bread in a stone oven as it was then. Among the natural attractions that surround Santa Rosalia, we can highlight the beautiful beaches of Bahía de Concepción and Las 3 Vírgenes Volcano in the middle of the desert, one of the highest peaks of the peninsula. To get to this place there are two options: the land route by the Tijuana-Los Cabos Transpeninsular Highway, or the sea route, through a ferry that connects with the port of Guaymas, Sonora. The Church of Santa Barbara is the first prefabricated church that was installed in Mexico. It was brought from Brussels at the end of the 19th century by the then director of the mining company El Boleo. Besides, it was designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1884 and was exhibited at the world exhibition in Paris in 1889. Installed in Santa Rosalia in 1897 and built entirely with iron, some stained glass windows of great artistic value stand out on its altar. The ornaments, the chandeliers and the Gothic altarpiece of the altar were imported from Europe. In the Museum and Municipal Archive, in what were the former administrative offices of the mining company El Boleo, an important collection of pieces, tools, and objects that guarantee the prosperous mining past of the region is now exhibited. In its French architecture, characteristic of the time, its facade stands out, where exterior corridors with railings and wooden slats can be seen. On San Marcos Island you will meet some active and huge gypsum mines, which are only 30 kilometers by road to the south of Santa Rosalia; They will take you to the small town of San Bruno, where a small population of mining workers lives. The waters that surround it represent an adventure for expert divers, who will find reef banks and marine species such as dogfish and sharks. You can visit the Tres Vírgenes volcano where you will meet some active and huge gypsum mines, which are only 30 kilometers away by road to the south of Santa Rosalia; They will take you to the small town of San Bruno, where a small population of mining workers lives. The waters that surround it represent an adventure for expert divers, who will find reef banks and marine species such as dogfish and sharks. It is one of the three geological formations that are part of the volcanic complex, together with the Azufre and El Viejo volcano. It is located 33 kilometers by road to the north of Santa Rosalía, it is the favorite volcano of mountaineers and climbers who like challenges since its altitude is 2,554 meters above sea level. From its cusp, a large part of the splendid Mar de Cortés is observed, while its southern face flows into a large crater. The Geothermal is located right here, from where the electric energy flows to Santa Rosalía and San Ignacio. Undoubtedly, a place that is worth knowing and the easiest way is with Easy Trip. The Mexican Ministry or Secretariat of Tourism acknowledges that México´s magical experience is not only in the famous sun and beaches, but it is also much more than that. The success of Mexico is due in part to the great Mexican hospitality and culture, which keeps many tourists coming back. The Government created the ‘Pueblos Mágicos’ program to recognize places across the country that imbue certain characteristics that make them unique, historically significant, with great traditions, and offer magical experiences to its visitors. A “Magical Village” is a place with symbolism, legends, history, important events, festivals, traditions, great food, and fun interactive shopping, day-to-day life – in other words, “magic” in its social and cultural manifestations, with great opportunities for tourism. Every Pueblo Magico offers a special experience to the visitor. The program was launched in 2001 and by 2012 a total of 83 towns and villages in all 31 states have been awarded the title or nomination of Pueblo Mágico. The program created pride, recognition for its local citizens and it was part of the diversification strategy from Secretary of Tourism to promote culture and Mexican traditions. The program has offered opportunities to citizens to create a living from tourism, and it has made significant contributions to the economies of not only the pueblos but also the entire regions, as visitors’ spending created important jobs in the towns with the most economic needs. Towns with over 5 thousand citizens are receiving more than 20 thousand visitors during the weekends, which contributes to the economy and the well-being of its residents. Baja California Sur has two Magical Towns: Todos Santos and Loreto. Let us tell you a little more about them. TODOS SANTOS Todos Santos is a small coastal town in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, on the Pacific coast side of the Baja California Peninsula, about an hour’s drive north of Cabo San Lucas and an hour’s drive southwest from La Paz. Todos Santos is located very near the Tropic of Cancer in the municipality of La Paz. This little colonial artist town oozes the charm and charisma of an older, more traditional Mexico. The beautiful, vast beaches right outside town attract surfers who enjoy the relatively uncrowded waves. Todos Santos is unspoiled Baja at its best. The mission at what is now Todos Santos, Misión Santa Rosa de las Palmas was founded by father Jaime Bravo in 1723. In 1724 it was renamed Nuestra Señora del Pilar de La Paz. Located across the street to the southwest from the small town plaza, this mission contains the statue of the Virgin of Pilar, which is the focus of Todos Santos’s main festival in November. More recently, there has been a gradual increase in tourist activity and a boom in real estate development. Handicraft shops, owner-operated art galleries featuring landscape paintings of local scenes (some artists from Guadalajara and other parts of Mexico also exhibit works in Todos Santos), upscale restaurants, boutique hotels and restored colonial buildings have contributed to the gentrification and redevelopment of the town. There a few annual festivals including the Festival de Cine and the Todos Santos Music Festival. The Hotel California is a favorite stop because of the name associated with the song made famous by the Eagles, even though the song does not specifically reference this particular hotel, nor any other existing hotel. There are many beautiful beaches within a 15-minute drive of Todos Santos. Playa Las Palmas and Playa Los Cerritos are great beaches for swimming and shell collecting. San Pedrito Point, Los Cerritos, and other local surf breaks attract surfers from around the world. There are many accommodations both at San Pedrito and at Cerritos beach. Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, was named a “Pueblo Mágico” in 2006. * * * * LORETO Loreto (or Conchó) is a resort town and municipal seat of Loreto Municipality, located on the Gulf of California in eastern Baja California Sur state, Mexico. In 2019, the city of 20,385 inhabitants is located about 350 km (220 mi) north of La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur state. The city is a tourist resort, catering mostly to American travelers, with daily flights from California to Loreto International Airport. Loreto is the oldest settlement in Baja. It is home to the first mission of all of California, which was established in 1697. With the quaint little town, the beautiful waters of the Sea of Cortez, and the Coronado islands right offshore, Loreto draws tourists who come to fish, dive, snorkel and relax. Loreto was the first Spanish colonial settlement of the Viceroyalty of New Spain on the Baja California Peninsula. The town was founded in 1697 by Jesuit missionaries, who found a steady spring of freshwater on this site, as the Misión Nuestra Señora de Loreto. The Jesuits were expelled in 1767, and control of the Baja California missions was given to the Franciscans. In 1769, the Franciscans were ordered to turn over the Baja missions to the Dominican order and accompany the expedition of Gaspar de Portolà to establish new missions in the unexplored northern frontier that became Alta California. The expedition departed from Loreto on March 24, 1769. There are seven buildings in Loreto from the 18th to the 20th century that are considered historical monuments by the federal government; the most important is the Mission of our Lady of Loreto, which is at the start of El Camino Real (“The Royal Road”), an historic corridor that follows north along the ancient route of the Spanish missions, to its ending in Sonoma, California, USA. In the neighboring town of San Javier are five historical buildings, most importantly the Mission of Saint Francis Xavier (Misión de San Francisco Javier), the best-preserved mission in the peninsula. The ruins of Mission of San Bruno, the first mission of Baja California, founded in 1683 by Jesuit missionary explorer Padre Eusebio Kino. It was ordered abandoned by the Spanish Crown a mere two years later. It is located twenty kilometers north of Loreto. The Jesuit Missions Museum (Museo de las Misiones Jesuíticas) is located beside the Mission of our Lady of Loreto. It has a collection of religious art, weapons, and tools from the 17th and 18th centuries that were used in the Spanish missions in Baja California. In the “La Giganta” Mountain Range (“Sierra de la Giganta”), there are cave paintings in canyons and rock shelters. The nearest sites to Loreto are “Cuevas Pintas” (15 km to the west) and “La Pingüica” (60 km to the North). The cave paintings from the indigenous groups of Baja California are world-famous and some of them have been added to UNESCO’s list of world heritage sites. * * * * * These two most than magical places are only a few but important reasons to come to Baja California, and we want to be sure that you get to know them. We have day trips and tours to take you to visit and enjoy them at it most! In its beginnings, in 1981, just six teams participated competing for a total of $ 10,000 dollars prizes. This year is the 39th edition of the tournament, and it will take part from October 17th to October 20th, and the awards are going to be delivered from October 22nd to 26th. They are expecting 130 teams from the US, Canada, and Mexico, mainly, but also Japan, New Zeland, Spain, Portugal and more. Fishing enthusiasts meet in Los Cabos every October to sign up and try their luck at sea. Live the feeling of sometimes being “a marlin away” of becoming millionaires, as has happened several times in the last decade with teams that have won almost 4 million dollars for having obtained the two largest marlins of the competition. The tournament lasts five days in total, two for registration and awards, and three days for fishing. These last ones have a daily jackpot that is divided between the top places. Likewise, awards are given to the best captains and the best teams taking into account the points obtained with the fishing of other specimens such as dorado, tuna, wahoo, etc. The name “Black and Blue” comes from the two main objectives of fishing: black marlin and blue marlin. These are relatively similar to sailfish, but their dorsal fins are much smaller and less colorful. The jawbones grow in the form of a long and pointed sword. For the protection of these marlin species, only those weighing more than 250 pounds (136 kilos) qualify, so the rest must be returned to the sea. The records of the biggest marlins captured in the tournament have been that of a gigantic blue marlin of 450 kilos, as well as a black marlin of 292 kilos, caught by Rocky Gentile in 1994 and Martha Mcnab in 2006 respectively. On the first day, the registration to the event and some talks for the participants are carried out, followed by a cocktail party to celebrate. On the second day, all boats and boats line up for the big starting shot. This is a moment full of excitement, as hundreds of boats start offshore between waves full of foam, looking for the best place to find the precious marlins. On the last day, a special dinner is made and official awards and recognition are given. The event is televised and closely followed by the sports press from around the world, in addition to having a live link via radio and online video on its website. Bisbee’s Black and Blue sponsors are considered the representatives of the finest products and services for participants. The tournament not only offers the opportunity to win the contestants but also causes a huge economic spill in Cabo, so the local people are always very aware of the tournament and its teams. A few days before the “big game” there is a smaller tournament that is used as “warming up”: Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore, where the total prizes can reach up to $ 300,000 dollars. The cost of registration is relatively lower and offers a unique experience for all lovers of open sea fishing. These tournaments are also affiliated with other similar events, such as the IGFA Offshore tournament and local charities. There is no doubt that this fishing tournament is one of the biggest attractions in Los Cabos. Even when you don’t have the budget to register for these tournaments, there is always the possibility of renting boats and private equipment for an extraordinary day of deep fishing, or just come to Cabo in October to witness an impressive and titanic race to earn millions of dollars! TIPS AND TRICKS. 17 September, 2019 No Comments Something very common that can happen during holidays, and that we usually forget, is that not all telephone companies in our country work in the destinations to which we go on vacation. If you come to Cabo and you have the need to stay connected because of your work, family or simply because you cannot get off your mobile device, here we tell you the options that exist so that you are never disconnected. One of the most comfortable, practical and simple solutions is to get a Mexican SIM arriving at the airport or at a cellular distributor in the city where you arrive, often for around MXN 50. Mexican SIM cards can be used in unlocked phones; all unlocked smartphones are compatible with Mexican data systems. WhatsApp and Viber are widely used. Mexico’s main cell-phone companies are Telcel, Movistar, and AT&T Mexico. Telcel has the most widespread coverage, and both Telcel and AT&T Mexico offer both roaming and calling in both Canada and the United States without extra charges. If your cellphone is not unlocked, many Mexican cell-phone stores can unlock it for around MXN 400. Roaming in Mexico with your phone from home is possible if you have a GSM, 3G or 4G phone, but it can be expensive. Roaming Zone is a useful source of roaming arrangements. Several cell-phone service providers in the USA now offer packages that allow customers to roam in Mexico at no (or a small) extra charge. Cellular service in Mexico has improved significantly within the last couple of years. Also, roaming rates for travelers from the United States has significantly decreased or has been eliminated but, with some warnings. For example, T-Mobile and Sprint both boast free data usage while in Mexico. While regular cell phone use (data/calling/texting) is available through most of the carriers, some of the smaller carriers do not offer any service. Verizon Verizon adds free Mexico and Canada roaming to its cheapest ‘unlimited’ plan. Both new and existing Go Unlimited customers will get free talk, text, and data in Mexico and Canada, up to a limit of 500MB per day at LTE speeds. The company is launching a new roaming feature that will allow customers to use their cell plan’s talk, text, and data inclusions internationally, without the usual exorbitant pricing. Verizon’s TravelPass lets you roam in Canada and Mexico for $2 per day, and in a further 65 countries worldwide for a $10 daily charge. Domestic wireless roaming is free on all nationwide Verizon Wireless plans. While no additional fees are incurred during Verizon Wireless roaming, these roaming minutes are treated like your regular Verizon Wireless minutes. Sprint As long as you have an LTE device (a smartphone), you can get free but very slow data while in Mexico. Sprint allows travelers to Mexico to “enjoy” free data (if you call slow as molasses internet speeds enjoyable). Chances are, your frustration will lead to purchasing a faster data plan at $2 a day or $10 for a week. Calls are $0.25 per minute, in and out, and all text messages are free. AT&T If you are an AT&T Unlimited or Premium customer, you can automatically use your phone in Mexico without incurring roaming fees. If you have other plans with AT&T, specifically, older or out of date plans, we recommend that you contact your carrier to upgrade your plan as older plan rates are extremely expensive. T-Mobile If you are a T-Mobile customer and you are on the Simple Choice plan or a T-Mobile One plan, coverage in Mexico and Canada are already part of your plan and you will not pay for roaming. However, while data is free, you will only get 2G speeds which is only fast enough to check and send emails and send messages on WhatsApp. If you plan on having a browsing experience that is anything other than frustrating, you will need to either consider adding an LTE option to your plan or using a different solution altogether. Please note that other T-Mobile plans are extremely expensive. You can pay $15,000 per GB on some of the other T-Mobile plans. Again, before going to Mexico, check that you have the right plan or simply use a different solution. Before your trip, inquire with your cell phone service provider about international calling and data plans. Most providers have packages available at a much lower price than you would normally pay for roaming, and this will save you a lot of money and headaches if you know you’re going to need to be using your phone frequently. If nothing of this is an option for you, there is always the WiFi option. If you’re not expecting any urgent calls and you don’t need to be connected all the time, you can turn off roaming and the data on your phone, and just use a WiFi connection when you can get one in cafes and restaurants, and hopefully at your hotel. Apps like Skype and Whatsapp will allow you to make calls over a WiFi connection without using your data plan, so you can make calls home for free when you have a good WiFi signal. Make sure you have a communications app installed on your phone before you leave, and familiarize yourself in its use ahead of time to avoid any communication snafus during your trip. Finally, remember that the most important thing is to enjoy yourself. Try to stay as far away from the phone and networks during your vacation to live every second to the fullest. There are a lot of fun activities for them and to enjoy together as a family. The first step is choosing your accommodation wisely. When you travel with kids you have to think about a lot of things, the room, the facilities of the place, activities, and lots of other stuff. Look for a resort (or else) that offers all the things that you are looking for. Hotels have a lot of good things like room service, meals, and buffets, baby-sitting services, etc., but vacation rentals or AirBnbs mean you can make it like your own home, and prepare your own meals, which could be useful with the kids. Of course, when we are in Cabo, we think about the beach! but even if your plan is to stay by the beach, you definitely must consider there’s a pool too. It is perfect for little ones to splash around in, cool down and get exhausted in! There are many things that you shouldn’t forget to pack or take when you are traveling with little ones, but one life savior is a light stroller. You may think that it will be uncomfortable to have it on the plane, but you’ll thank yourself later. They are really easy to travel with and can be taken right up to the gate, this will help at the airport for sure! They also can be portable beds for naps, and also they are (almost) all terrain. Another great tip is booking your flights around bedtime. They can sleep the whole flight and this will be a delight for you and all the other passengers. Chose the sits in the back of the plane, so you can have quicker access to the restrooms and the flight attendants if you need it, also you have the chance to disturb fewer people. You have to be extra sure to plan everything ahead so you can have the smallest margin of errors and that everything flows smoothly. Check-in for your flights online, so you can be more relaxed at the airport and make sure to have plenty of time. If your children are old enough, explain the journey to them. Especially if it is the first trip. Talk them through it, let them know what is going to happen along the way and make them feel useful. Most kids think flying is fun, so encourage it and let them enjoy it. In regards to activities with children in Cabo and its surroundings, there are a bunch of good options but don’t forget to make your research to be sure that the season for what you want to do is the right one, for example with the whales and turtles. Yearly, many species of endangered sea turtles nest in the balmy sands of Cabo. There are people making great efforts od conservation emphasizing in taking tiny hatchlings safe into the sea. There are tour operators who offer a certified naturalist-led program in which participants can “adopt” a hatchling and help them make their way into the sea. This could be an amazing activity for kids that can offer them to have contact with nature first hand. The tour to see the whales (only in season) is an experience that children cannot miss. You can see all the information about this activity here. Remember to check the operators that offer this tour and verify the minimum age to do it. Don’t forget to book a tour on The Buccaneer Queen. It is a magnificent tall ship that has appeared numerous times in film and TV. A variety of tours include sunset sails, whale watching, and snorkeling. You’ll admire the postcard-pretty views and kids will love the onboard pirate fight. Days at the beach are great and we are all for it in Cabo! But remember that the waters that surround us here have strong undertows and make many beaches unsafe for swimming, especially for kids. However, Medano beach is the family’s favorite. The tours to the magnificent Arch and Lover’s and Divorce beaches are kids friendly and a great time for them to experience a quiet boat ride. Remember that you can’t plan it all and traveling with kids a lot of things can go wild. Stay calm, and relax. Try to enjoy it. Your calm is their calm. And most important of all, don’t forget the sunblock and after sun! If you want to have safe and easy trips around Cabo, let us know! It is the perfect place for you to enjoy beautiful and romantic beaches and sunsets together, cocktails by the sea or by the pool, tours full of adrenaline and adventure, and much more. As we mentioned before, in Cabo you can find some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, including the famous Lover’s Beach (Playa del Amor), can you imagine a more romantic place? One of the favorite spots for lovers, which can only be reached by boat, is the ideal place to plan a romantic day next to who you love most. Sunbathing, swimming together, snookering, how about taking everything for a picnic on the beach? Sunsets are one of the most beautiful moments to enjoy with your partner, and a picnic is not the only option. Seeing it from the pool of your hotel or your balcony can be the beginning of a magical night. There are tours that can take you sailing offshore to enjoy it like never before. An excellent idea in case someone has a special question to ask (😉💍). Also, for a more formal occasion, if you are celebrating something special, you can dine on a cruise during sunset. An evening that will be unforgettable. Although the last thing we want on vacation is to wake up early, the sunrises in Cabo San Lucas are extraordinary. Set the alarm early and go for a walk on the beach. You can bring your coffee and do not forget to use sunscreen and have the camera at hand. Following the agenda, after the walk along the seashore and maybe a dip, return to the hotel and rest to prepare for the next delight: a couples massage or a visit to the SPA can be something of the most relaxing thing that you can do together. Most hotels have spaces for this with a varied menu to choose the option you like best, or you can book to visit other hotel’s SPA outside your accommodation. The choice of the hotel is a very important part of a romantic trip. If it is your anniversary, honeymoon or just a getaway to be together. You can opt for an exclusive place for adults, to have the greatest possible comfort. And don’t forget to check all the services they offer, the facilities and activities. Many resorts can offer private dinners on the beach for you, with special menus and exclusive service. One tip is that when you make your reservation you contact the hotel or your agency and let them know that your trip is romantic, your anniversary, etc. So they can have some courtesy for you, to make your stay unforgettable. Cabo is characterized by its delicious food, and it also has a wide variety of restaurants of all types, so finding an incredible place to celebrate your love will not be difficult. A unique landscape that exists in few places in the world. And that is why here, you can find unique activities and attractions. Riding a camel sounds magical, like a movie! Like a night in Arabia, but in the very Mexican lands. Imagine riding a camel between the wonderful desert landscapes of the Baja and the mesmerizing blue colors of the Sea of Cortez. The camel ride is one of the main tourist attractions in Cabo, and you definitely can’t miss it. You can find different agencies that offer camel tours, usually, the price ranges between $75 and $120 USD per person. Most, in addition to including the camel ride, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, includes food and drinks, and even classes to make tortillas in the most traditional way. Tours in all-terrain vehicles through the desert, hikes or climbs in nature reserves where you can also appreciate much more of the area’s native flora and fauna, such as Gila woodpeckers, vultures, golden eagles, Harris squirrels, hawks, Bluebirds, roadrunners and endless species of birds, reptiles, mammals and insects. There are some tours where you can attend a tequila tasting, what better way to end a wonderful experience like this? * * * To perform these tours the minimum age accepted is 4 or 5 years (depending on the operator), but you do not need to have a certain physical condition, however, it is not suitable for people with mobility problems or back problems. The activity lasts about 3 hours. It is important to make sure when you are going to book a tour that meets the requirements that you are looking for, and that everything they offer is right for you. There are, for example, some that limit the use of cameras and mobile devices. Choose the one that goes most with the experience you want to live. Take the necessary precautions, such as keeping yourself hydrated, using sunscreen and covering yourself from the sun; On most tours, they teach you how to wear a turban-like in the Middle Eastern desert too. Wearing suitable and comfortable clothes and shoes is always very important. Riding a camel on the peninsula of Baja California will be unforgettable, it has the colors of Mexico wherever you turn. The guides will be prepared to answer your questions about the place and the animals with which you will be experiencing closely. You will learn many things about these fascinating ruminants and other species. Most of the tour operators that offer this trip are committed not to mistreat animals, even some are rescued from circuses or other places where they suffered at the hands of insensitive people. If it’s the time, sometimes you may be lucky to see whales in the sea. Check the sighting season here. Live this trip through beautiful oases and let us take you. But also, the landscapes are jaw-dropping and added to this the architecture, high-end design places and quaint frames everywhere. When we go on a trip, we always want to take the best pictures to have to remember later the magical time we had, and here in Cabo, there are TONS of places that are worthy of being shaped for posterity, and we want to show you some of them. First of all, the hotels. This is where you are going to spend most of your time during your vacay, and some of them have beautiful corners to get inspired by. Look for a place that makes you feel calm and if it’s possible good light. There are some of them that you definitely have to visit, even if you are not staying there, to find charming scenarios. * * One of our personal favorites is Hotel El Ganzo, which is also an art gallery filled with murals and colorful stuff. Take a look! * * * * Beach photos are essential. But how can you make them great? Of course, there are many resources that you can use to improve your pics. Lenses (there are little ones for smartphones), better camera equipment, tripods (really helpful), selfie sticks, drones, etc. * * * Have we mentioned that Balandra beach is recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world? * * * * You will find natural landscapes in every place you turn, you won’t want to blink. * * * * Markets in Mexico are always full of color, flavor, heavenly smells, and nice people. They are great for having fun taking pictures. Maybe you’ll want to visit El Merkado in San Jose del Cabo, which is a gastronomical center and you will find meat, fish, seafood, groceries, fruit, veggies, baked goodies, WINE, freshly pressed juices, artisanal pizzas, fresh pasta, healthy food, coffee and of course, ICE CREAM. * * * The town of Cabo Pulmo, bordering the reef, was until recently a laid-back fishing village. A very well kept secret by a few. You can come here to live the experience that you get from a natural park plus a lovely little town. * * * As you may know now, there are many magic towns in the Baja. All of them special and mystical. * * * The pier in La Paz, or El Malecón, is on the list without a doubt. Find street art on the walls outside of the stores and great views. * * Flora Farms is a 25-acre organic working farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS PLACE? Definitely, the place for a photoshoot. * * * * Finally, The Glass Factory is a place that seems taken from a fairy tale, located out on the bypass road to Todos Santos, where more than 500 one-of-a-kind pieces are made daily by local artisans. This will definitely be something out of the ordinary in your Cabo bucket list. * * * * Naturally, don’t forget The Arch. A cliché, but a dazzling one. Maybe you are thinking that you are not a professional photographer, but there are some quick tips that you can put into practice to improve a lot. For example, if you are using your phone, don’t take your photos from the Instagram app or other, take from the camera app to get better results. Clean your camera lens, sounds dumb, but it makes a difference. Always go for natural light better. Take a few pictures of the same thing, try different angles and poses. Please, send us all of your amazing Cabo shots! We want to see them in the same way we love to see the pictures of Bob, the Cabo dog. I WANT TO GO TO THESE PLACES Photo credits to their authors.
